I don't understand your perversion with demeaning centralized government and those of us that beleive in comunal living through commnist princoples.  What is so wrong with wanting a world where everyone can be as one and not have to fend for their own needs but rather to have them all provided for by those that we place into paower?

If anything Capitalism has caused far more pain and suffering over the years than anything communism has done.  There has never been a war started or propogated by us or our socialist bretheren.  To the contrary it has been capitalistic endeavors such as the United States that started wars in the Korean peninsula, Afghanistan, Europe and all over the world for nearly two centuries.

I wish that you would open your eyes to this and realize how silly you yourself look when you degrade the cause of love and equality for humankind and berate the principles of things you understand nothing about.  It has not been the comunists and socialists over the years that have caused war and destrection and suffering, but rather it has been the capitalists seeking more and more oil and the Christians killing in the name of their God.

Kathy,

Ok I have had some time to digest this message and give it the proper response.  First off you seem to be willfully blind to the atrocities that have been committed in the name of Communism and Socialism and even the fact that you call socialists your "brethren" shows that you don't understand the historical hatred between the two.  Hitler in W.W.II attacked the Soviet Union in part because of these differing social philosophies.  They hated each other and a lot of this had to do with the Communism vs. Socialism part of the equation.

To say that capitalism has over the years has caused more pain than communism is true only if you consider pain inflicted upon lazy people by not working and thereby not getting what they "need".  That is not pain.  It is a result of slothfulness.  It is also their own darn fault.

Communism and Socialism, as well as outgrowths of these philosophies like Leninism, Stalinism and Nazism, have caused much of of the suffering in the last 200 years.  Stalin killed a total of some 10 million people during his reign for  the crime of disagreeing with him or even to be perceived as disagreeing with him.  In fact Stalin also enforced that people not be free to express themselves and oppressively demanded "socialist realism" be portrayed at all times.

In the early 1930s Stalin intentionally starved an estimated 12 million Ukrainians by confiscating ALL their grain for the motherland.  No suffering under these philosophies?  I find that funny.

Prior to W.W.II Stalin and Hitler were secret allies, however Hitler broke that alliance in his pursuit of power and unleashed a reign of terror on the people's of Europe that resulted in millions of dead and death camps for the Jews.  No suffering under these philosophies?  I find that funny too.  Russia's industrial might was nearly nonexistent under Stalin and his economic principles.  If it had not been for the Russian winter, Hitler would have rolled into the heart of  Russia.

During the war it was the United States and the Allies supplied the Soviet Union with the means to conduct a war.  Several thousand tanks, almost a hundred thousand machine guns, tens of thousands of trucks and on and on the list goes.  The Soviet industrial machine under the Communists was laughable.

We don't even need to touch Mao Tze Tung at this point, but do some research and I think you will find another whole list of millions dead in the name of Communism.

And what about Korea?  Korea was started when the North, armed and controlled by the Soviet Union, marched on the south.  To even suggest that this was a result of capitalism is laughable as well.  Many more lay dead after this thanks to the vaunted society of communism.

Similar happenings in North Vietnam as well.  And in that country in this current day people are reduced to eating tree bark for sustinance all because under Communism there is not enough food to feed the people or prosperity to keep the nation going.  More compassion and love from the communists eh?

And in China we see a country where it is ready to use military force against Taiwan to reannex them.  How can you be so blind to have ignored this?

And Afghanistan?  Wasn't it the Soviets that waged a brutal war in that country?  I seem to remember that from somewhere, but certainly not from any "standard" classroom history book.  I would suggest reading up on that too and how the US helped supply the Afghan rebels in their fight against the Soviets.  Even more dead under the thumb of Communism and there would have been more.

So I don't think that it is I that is misinformed.  Communism and Socialism are not at all peaceful.  Their means of power comes from suppressing those that disagree with them.  This has been clearly illustrated throughout history and will continue to be so as long as people fool themselves into thinking such philosophies are peaceful.  They certainly are not.  They have lead to more deaths in their name that any other form of government in recent history.

Communism and Socialism are not about peace.  They are about opression and killing those that do not agree to be opressed.

And since you also brought Christians into this fray, please remember that Islam has had it's share of bloody crusades and wars throughout history as has every other major religion in the world.  There were thousands killed on 9/11/01 alone and all in the name of Allah and the beliefs of Islam.  And I'll just mention the thousands of African Christians killed every year in the name of Islam and let you do a little bit of research on that topic.

Peace and God Bless

Jeffrey J. Jackson
