A Legal Illegal Backlash

As much as I try and be original, I made a point in the radio spot to be aired this Friday (April 14) that I’m going to use to set up this column. I wrote (read)…

“I’m going to sneak into your house. Once I’m inside, I’m going to find a place to hang out. I’ll sneak around and take whatever money I can find. I’ll use your computer and sign myself up on your family’s health insurance. I’ll help myself to whatever food is in your fridge. And should you catch me, I’ll protest and demand that I not only stay in your home as long as I want, but that you call the police and have all charges against me dropped. Oh, and by the way, my family will be moving in soon.”

As over-simplistic as that may sound, that’s where we are with this whole illegal alien thing. The very people who use our laws as toilet paper and violate our sovereign border, are now taking to our streets by the hundreds of thousands, seemingly daily, to tell us stupid, racist Americans that they are here, deal with it, and give them what they want… or else.

In an article by David Espo of The Associated Press, “The two top Republicans in Congress, confronted with internal party divisions as well as large public demonstrations, said Tuesday they intend to pass immigration legislation that does not subject illegal immigrants to prosecution as felons.”

“A written statement by House Speaker Dennis Hastert of Illinois and Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist of Tennessee, did not say whether they would seek legislation subjecting illegal immigrants to misdemeanor prosecution or possibly a civil penalty such as a fine.”

“‘It remains our intent to produce a strong border security bill that will not make unlawful presence in the United States a felony,’ the two men said. An estimated 11 million men, women and children are in the United States illegally.”

So what are we going to do? Say “no harm, no foul” to all those who are protesting and give ‘em all an ice cream? When you have thousands of illegal aliens all in one place at one time, where the hell is the INS? Why aren’t all these criminals, yes felons, rounded up? When we lowly American citizens commit crime, our police don’t hesitate to arrest us, yet people who broke a federal law can take to the streets and demand we not only forgive their crime, but give them the wages they want, the housing they want, the free health care they want, and the legal status they have to have in order to function openly in our society, no questions asked.

We have illegal alien sympathizers in the mainstream media slanting the issue….

“The three broadcast networks led Monday night with multiple stories which celebrated the protest marches held by illegal immigrants and their supporters, with all three featuring sympathetic anecdotes about the plight of those here illegally.

“Tonight,” ABC anchor Elizabeth Vargas touted in forwarding the red herring that conservatives are against “immigration” as opposed to illegal entry, “hundreds of thousands of people marching in streets across America, trying to convince the country that it needs immigrants.”

CBS anchor Bob Schieffer, who never uttered the word “illegal” in his lengthy introduction, teased: “They are not American citizens yet, but they want to be. And from every corner of America, immigrants took to the streets today to ask for new immigration laws.” Schieffer trumpeted: “Not since the protests of the Vietnam era has there been anything quite like it. From the Canadian border to Texas, from California to the east coast, thousands upon thousands of immigrants in at least a hundred
American cities took to the streets in peaceful demonstrations.”

NBC’s Lester Holt heralded: “From border states like here in Arizona to unlikely places like South Bend, Indiana, and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, illegal immigrants alongside their supporters stepped from the shadows. Marching under the American flag, they demanded a place at the American table.”

Massachusetts Senator Ted Kennedy, who co-sponsored the Senate bill that would allow illegal immigrants to “earn” U.S. citizenship, is callously comparing these “immigration rallies” to the civil rights movement. “This is reminiscent of the civil rights movement. It’s equal in terms of intensity and feelings among the groups.”

Now while there is no confirmation or not if he was sober while making his speech, every sentence punctuated with a Spanish translation, but Kennedy shows not only his contempt for the law which is nothing new, but his contempt for black people and every thing the Civil Rights Movement was about.

There is NO comparison between blacks and illegals. Blacks were brought to America against their will. Illegals sneak across our borders voluntarily. Blacks had troubles being counted until the Voting Rights Act solidified our place in American politics. Illegals have been and are voting today, thanks to fraudulently obtained driver’s licenses, Social Security cards, and liberal laws in some states that say a polling place official can’t request to see the identification of a potential voter.

Blacks were forced to work in America for free (you know, real slave labor) for centuries. Illegals have to take whatever compensation they get because… they are here ILLEGALLY! And if they’re hungry, they can just waltz in and receive food stamps, WIC benefits, Section 8 housing, and maybe even cash because they gave birth here in America. Their child, affectionately referred to by some as an “anchor baby”, is eligible for all those benefits thanks to Section One of our Fourteenth Amendment, which reads, “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.”

The original intent of the Amendment was to make the descendants of slaves citizens as to help them better assimilate into American society, NOT to reward today’s illegal aliens who sneak in to our country eight and a half months pregnant, and reap the rewards of American generosity and the protections guaranteed to legitimate citizens.

Now, our supposed leaders Hastert and Frist are contemplating abandoning us citizens out of a fear of an electoral backlash by illegal aliens who may become Democrats. What they really should be afraid of is a backlash by us citizens.

Over the last month, I’ve talked to many people up here in the Northeast who’ve never known that illegal immigration was such a negative drain on those in border states. They knew nothing about Proposition 187, they knew nothing about Maywood, California.

Now… they know.

We hear how badly we treat those who enter our country through the harsh desert lands of the American Southwest, yet our media has forgotten to educate our electorate as to the benevolent treatment of illegals from Central American countries who try and steal into Mexico. We would never shoot illegals sneaking into America. According to the Center for Immigration Studies, Mexico regularly abuses illegals sneaking into her country, or worse.

“We are working in the inner part and in the southern part of the country to stop migration flows that come from Central America that are crossing illegally the southern border of Mexico.”

Yet our gutless politicians in this country by appeasing 11 million people who not only violated our border, are giving validity to those who are now publicly DEMANDING we pay them what they want and give them all the bennies they feel they are due.

Liberal teachers in this country are using our kids to add to the illegals’ protest numbers. Latino students are passing up offers of free color televisions, in some instances, and using the protests as an excuse to skip school. In some cases, the Latino high school dropout rate is over 50%.

So as a counter to the masses of illegals protesting in American cities, shutting down commerce in a “screw you” to we, the law abiding, Sher Zieve threw out a suggestion that has taken on a life of its own. In part she wrote, “… I think it’s time that we actual-and-verifiable citizens took to the streets- or just stayed home – to show our Senators how a “National Day Without Citizens” would impact the country. There are more of us than there are “them”. Immigration (that’s legal immigration) is not a right. It’s a privilege….”

On May fifth, Cinco de Mayo, I will be in observance of the “National Day Without Citizens.” I will stay home and conduct no commerce on that day. I will avoid the supermarket, the bank, a gas station. Okay, I will watch the news, listen to Rush on the radio, and check emails. But should you all reading this join me, we can send a clear signal that Americans, real Americans, can do more to disrupt the nation than a bunch of non-English speaking freeloaders who take more of our generous tax dollars than they would ever dream of doing.

Enough of the kid gloves and compassion. We were being compassionate when we were looking the other way. But now, some activists have gone and awoken the sleeping giant. Americans will be silent no longer and our elected officials had better take notice if they know what’s good for them.

Many American Democrats may cross sides and join us on this issue. The Republican leadership had better stop worrying about pissing off illegal aliens, and worry more about pissing off their base: We the People.
