Are We Under Attack?
By: Carolyn Hileman
I submit to you that we are in fact under attack and it is not necessarily by the people you may be thinking of right now. We are under attack by the people on the inside and they are being given a free ride, but after tonight that ride is over. I am not talking about the Senators or the President for that matter although they have either been willing dupes or are being paid off.
How many of you remember shortly after 9/11 it became the thing to do to buck the president and Homeland security? Libraries refused to cooperate claiming privacy issues and other places openly refused to obey the law. It became very fashionable to thumb your nose at the administration and anyone one else concerned about our open borders. Well that type of attitude not only continued it thrived, anything and everything that was done to protect us as a nation became a joke as the Democrats managed to get just about every security measure thrown out as a violation of privacy.
Now we have several major cities that are openly sanctuary cities and even though the Bush administration attempted to withhold their funding for highway projects, they were still allowed to harbor illegal immigrants to date these are our sanctuary cities, *Note: Not all listings independently confirmed by OJJPAC: Alabaster, AL, Chandler, AZ , Phoenix, AZ , Bell Gardens, CA, City of Industry, CA, City of Commerce, CA , Cypress, CA, Davis CA, Diamond Bar, CA, Downey, CA , Lakewood, CA, Los Angeles, CA , Long Beach, CA, Lynwood, CA, Maywood, CA, Montebello, CA, National City, CA, Norwalk, CA, Paramount, CA, Pico Rivera, CA , So. With a list like that is it any wonder that the President and the rest felt at ease bringing up the immigration bill? Most of these names have been on this list since 9/11. I remember reading it afterwards and saying no wonder we got hit.
Trenton NJ has the proud distinction of being the place where the anthrax letters were being sent from. So it really makes you wonder who you should be angrier at. I don’t suppose any of us went to the extreme and boycotted these cities to let them know that this would not be tolerated; no we went on along on our merry way and forgot all about that issue.
Then we have the companies who hire the illegal immigrants such as Swift & Co, plants in Colorado, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Texas and Utah, the American Staffing Resources Inc. offices at the Fresh Del Monte Produce fruit and vegetable processing plant, and Michael Bianco Inc. Those three companies alone had a total of two thousand illegal workers using fake social security cards. Then we have the companies, who have shipped their work over seas, and those who have laid off workers and replaced them with workers who have HB1 visas, and there you have it the American taxpayer is under attack.
The question is do we dare fight back? Do we, as a people, fight them just as vehemently as we did the Senate and the President? Because if we don’t it will not matter who sits in the Oval office, it will be status quo. As long as there is demand and a safe harbor we will be seeing them scale the walls to get here. They will take our jobs, live in our cities and march in our streets until we as a people stand up and say enough. Do not buy from companies that have been raided, that have nothing but illegal immigrants working there. Do not vacation in cities that harbor illegal immigrants. Do not buy from companies that import workers. It is as simple as that. If we are not ready to do the really hard work here then we need to shut up and sit down.
If all we can muster is a few phone calls and emails and still go and buy from these companies and frequent these cities, nothing is ever going to change. Is it time to fight back? Do we really want change? Are we happy with the way things are right now? Will we be happy when our company announces it is going to lay off a hundred thousand workers and then goes and hires as many HB1 visa holders? If these companies and cities have taken our money don’t they at least owe us a little respect? Are we under attack?
