Jim Gilchrist to Tour Mississippi Looking for Political Leaders who will Fight Illegal Immigration during 2007 Election Year
Aliso Viejo, CA- Jim Gilchrist, founder of the nationwide volunteer “neighborhood watch†program for the borders of the United States known as the Minuteman Project, will be traveling the state of Mississippi on Monday, July 23, 2007 to find and support candidates for office that adhere to the principles of the organization he started. The year 2007 is an election year in Mississippi, with all candidates for office facing a primary on August 7. Polls currently show that Illegal Immigration is the #1 issue with voters in the Republican Primary.
Gilchrist will also be talking with statewide and local media while visiting Mississippi. Gilchrist noted of the upcoming visit that “With the abdication of the responsibilities of securing the border at the Federal level, it is now up to elected official in every state who believe in the Constitution of the United States to do the job that Washington refuses to do.†Gilchrist further remarked that “I hope that candidates for office all over America watch what is happening in early election states like Mississippi where fighting Illegal Immigration is a concern of the voters they so desperately seek.â€
Jim Gilchrist founded the multi-ethnic Minuteman Project on Oct. 1, 2004, after years of frustrated efforts trying to get a neglectful U.S. government to simply enforce existing immigration laws.

He has appeared on over 1000 radio and TV news and commentary shows in the past twelve months, and he believes he is only one of millions of 21st century minutemen / women / children who want the U.S. to remain governed by the “rule of law†and who want proactive enforcement of our national security protections and our immigration legal code.
