President Bush Foregoes the BBQ and Walks the Talk in Iraq
By: Lance Winslow
President Bush did not enjoy a family BBQ like the rest of us this labor day, as he was busy doing his job, where in Iraq on a surprise visit. Knowing that my Brother is in Iraq, it gives me strength knowing that our President and Commander in Chief made a surprise visit to give encouragement to the troops. Even more importantly is the email I got from my brother in the Iraq stating that his USMC team had secured the province.
My brother went so far as to say that some day we may all be visiting Iraq as tourists in a new flourishing economy. Some say impossible, but that is not what the historical record shows us. There is many a land where US troops were called to service and today they are some of the strongest economies in the world. I want everyone to think about that fact.
I wonder how many Americans can look in their own mirror and know that they put in 110% into their jobs in the same way. It is time that more people walked their talk like President Bush. In fact, many people who have never even been to the Middle East spend hours talking trash and giving advice as to what should be done in Iraq.
Personally, I would much rather listen to someone who walks the talk and has actually been there. Like my brother and like the President of the United States of America, which just so happens to be the greatest nation in the history of humankind, which no body can deny. Sincerely, Lance Winslow.
