Go to Military Power – To Fight the California Wildfires
By: Lance Winslow
“It’s just like Iraq out here only no one is shooting at you!” said the Military Pilot of the HS-60 Helicopter assigned to fighting the California Wildfires, which are threatening our cities. Camp Pendleton USMC base has assigned Helicopters and fire fighting equipment from both the Navy and Marine bases are out in full force as well.
The Air National Guard Base at Channel Islands, part of Pacific Missile Test Center Pt. Mugu has sent 6 C-130 aircraft in to fight the blazes, these birds have tremendous ability and are working to control the blazes. The Naval Base in San Diego has set up an evacuation point and a tent city ready to receive huge numbers of evacuees. Meanwhile the military has set up a hotline.
It is like a war zone out there declared a Naval Base Admiral and we are here to protect the American People, this time from the perils of Mother Nature.
The Federal Government, all state resources, the United States Military are all out to conquer these fires.
It appears that the fires will be controlled or will be out in a couple of days. When the going gets tough, the military gets going. Stated the Online Think Tank. It is amazing what we can do when we work together.
More than a 1,000 homes have been destroyed and 200 commercial buildings. The death count is relatively low considering the size of the blazes and the number of different fires. The October California Fires of 2007 will go down in history. Sometimes you have to go to Military Power to defeat a Natural Disaster of this magnitude.
