Obama: Schlepping around to find a church to celebrate Easter
By: Marie Jon'
At the time of our founding, most Americans were avowed Christians. Those devout believers would be shocked to see modern revisionists claim otherwise, and they would especially be shocked at the degree to which non-believing atheists have taken control of our country’s courts, legislative halls, and educational institutions.
Barack Hussein Obama belittles the faith of our founders and America’s vast Christian heritage. Delivering a recent speech in Turkey, Obama exposed his disdain for biblical Christianity, leaving many Americans wondering what is happening to the United States.
During Obama’s recent world tour, he bowed to the Muslim King of Saudi Arabia. Not one European head of State did the same. Instead, they observed the social protocol of a proper public handshake. While visiting France, Obama refused to honor the graves of American WWII veterans at Normandy. He disgraced the heroic patriots who bravely liberated Europe while protecting our freedoms here in America. Instead, Obama went to Iraq for another photo op with our troops. Recall that in August 2007, Obama said that American troops were “just air raiding villages and killing civilians” in Iraq.
As the president gave his speech in Turkey, he praised Islam’s contributions to America. I do not begrudge Muslims who come to our country to live their lives where freedom abounds. Turkey was one of the coalition of countries that joined with the U.S. to fight the War on Terror.
However, many natural-born Americans find themselves disconcerted by the lack of voices repudiating the despicable acts of terrorism that have taken place against our country. It’s not enough for us to hear spokespersons from the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) promote their anti-American view. Regarding this, Middle East expert Daniel Pipes has written:
“CAIR denied bin Laden’s responsibility for the twin East African embassy bombings. As [CAIR spokesman Ibraham] Hooper saw it, those explosions resulted from some vague ‘misunderstandings of both sides.’ (A New York court, however, blamed bin Laden’s side alone for the embassy blasts.)
“In 2001, CAIR denied his culpability for the Sept. 11 massacre, saying only that ‘if [note the 'if'] Osama bin Laden was behind it, we condemn him by name.’ (Only in December was CAIR finally embarrassed into acknowledging his role.)
“CAIR consistently defends other militant Islamic terrorists, too. The conviction of the perpetrators of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, it deemed ‘a travesty of justice.’ The conviction of Omar Abdel Rahman, the blind sheikh who planned to blow up New York City landmarks, it called a ‘hate crime.’ The extradition order for suspected Hamas terrorist Mousa Abu Marook, it labeled ‘anti-Islamic’ and ‘anti-American.’
“Not surprisingly, CAIR also backs those who finance terrorism. When President Bush closed the Holy Land Foundation on December 4, 2001, for collecting money he said was ‘used to support the Hamas terror organization,’ CAIR decried his action as ‘unjust’ and ‘disturbing.’
“CAIR even includes at least one person associated with terrorism in its own ranks. On Feb. 2, 1995, U.S. Attorney Mary Jo White named Siraj Wahhaj as one of the ‘unindicted persons who may be alleged as co-conspirators’ in the attempt to blow up New York City monuments. Yet CAIR deems him ‘one of the most respected Muslim leaders in America’ and includes him on its advisory board.
“For these and other reasons, the FBI’s former chief of counterterrorism, Steven Pomerantz, concludes that ‘CAIR, its leaders and its activities effectively give aid to international terrorist groups.’
“Nor is terrorism the only disturbing aspect of CAIR’s record. Other problems include:
“Intimidating moderate Muslims. In at least two cases (Hisham Kabbani and Khalid Durán), CAIR has defamed moderate Muslims who reject its extremist agenda, leading to death threats against them.
“Embracing murderers. CAIR responded to the arrest and conviction of Jamil Al-Amin (the former H. Rap Brown) by praising him, raising funds for him and then denying his guilt after his conviction for the murder of an Atlanta policeman. Likewise with Ahmad Adnan Chaudhry of San Bernardino, Calif. Disregarding his conviction for attempted murder, CAIR declared him ‘innocent’ and set up a defense fund for him.
“Promoting anti-Semitism. The head of CAIR’s Los Angeles office, Hussam Ayloush, routinely uses the term ‘zionazi’ when referring to Israelis. CAIR co-hosted an event in May 1998 at which an Egyptian militant Islamic leader, Wagdi Ghunaym, called Jews the “descendants of the apes.’
“Aggressive ambition. As reported by the San Ramon Valley Herald, CAIR Chairman Omar M. Ahmad told a crowd of California Muslims in July 1998, ‘Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. The Koran . . . should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on earth.’
“CAIR’s real record is one of extremism. North American Muslims themselves are beginning to discover — and the government, leading media, churches, and businesses should follow — that CAIR represents not the noble civilization of Islam but an aggressive and radical strain similar to that which led to the suicide hijackings last September. CAIR must be shunned as a fringe group by responsible institutions and individuals throughout North America.” [Full text]
“Not a Christian nation”
What was Obama actually saying while on European soil? Listen to the carefully-crafted words that his administration uses. They no longer describe reality.
The war against radical Islam has been removed merely by changing the words. Terms such as “Long War” or “Global War on Terror” are no longer used. We will be perceived as mere pacifists by those plotting to kill us. The edict went out to use the term of “Overseas Contingency Operation.” How quaint, debonair, and so Barry Obama.
To add insult to injury, during the Lenten season and a High Holy Week for both Christians and Jews, Obama took the opportunity in his recent speech in Turkey to willfully misspeak about the United States and her people of faith. In the long-winded, over-rated speech, he announced that “America is not a Christian nation, although there is a large group of Christians. We are not a Christian nation, a Jewish nation, or a Muslim nation. We are a nation of citizens.” His quote sounds as if it came out of Chairman Mao’s Red Book.
It is this man’s job to accurately represent us and attest to the true character of the people of his country. Obama had little, if any, praise for America while abroad. Obama also used his platform to try to embarrass the man who preceded him. Many of the leaders of the world have great respect and appreciation for President George W. Bush. Yet, the drive-by-media framed Obama’s comments demeaning the former president as another “historic” event.
Demigod or demagogue?
The leader of the Nation of Islam envisions Barack Obama as deity. “The Messiah is absolutely speaking,” believes Louis Farrakhan.
In his remarks in Turkey, Obama negated the fact that our country’s greatness comes from our Judeo-Christian values. Indeed, it was those very values that our nation was built upon. The very heart and soul of this magnificent, mighty nation is rooted upon faith in a Creator God whom many know as the Savior of the world.
It is a shame that America’s president announced to the world that “we are not a Christian nation” as he has his staff schlepping around at the last minute to find a church in which to celebrate Easter that will not offend someone within the black community. One would think that a handsome, newly elected president would no longer be interested in playing the race card. I’m stunned and shocked that he is still campaigning.
In a very short period of time, Obama and his fellow travelers have already damaged our country severely, perhaps irreparably. These radicals will use whatever they can to further their long-awaited aspirations to change our country forever. While expounding a “hate and blame America philosophy,” Obama plans to remake our nation. The new image will incorporate his twenty years of sitting in the pews of Rev. Jeremiah Wight and learning Black Liberation Theology, a quasi-Marxist cult.
Take time out today and reaffirm your faith, whether you are a Christian or of the Jewish community. We are a nation of the Almighty God. More than ever before, we need His tender mercies and blessings.
