The American Economy Is Obamas Katrina

By: Ken Hughes

Three days before the hurricane hit New Orleans President Bush had government assistance in the staging areas a few miles from New Orleans ready to go when the Governor of Louisiana requested help as required by law. The Governor vacillated until it was too late. President Bush had appealed to the citizens of New Orleans to evacuate the city three days before the hurricane hit land. The Mayor of New Orleans had ample transportation available to have evacuated those in the lower areas of the city. He vacillated. It seems the politics of the disaster over shadowed the needs of the people. It wasn’t until disaster struck they looked around for an escape goat and settled on Bush. The citizens of New Orleans were waiting for the government to do something. The law prohibited the government from doing anything until the state requested help. That’s like watching a man drown because the rescue equipment at hand couldn’t be used because it didn’t meet Coast Guard safety standards.

Obama is finding himself in much the same position as Bush did. The weight of America has fallen on his shoulders and all he thought he knew he’s finding he really didn’t know. He‘s beginning to realize circumstances not presidents create the daily headlines and daily headlines are more often than not figments of reporters / editors imaginations. A Mad Scientist announces some far out theory how he / she created a new X Y or Z technology that will ultimately save the planet. All of a sudden it becomes the president’s next national project. More often than not the president hasn’t seen or heard of these projects until he sees them on CNN or Fox this is what’s know as media manipulation for fun and profit.

Obama’s arrogance and lack of experience set him up as a media target. He was lulled into a false sense of media brotherly love prior to his being elected president. If Obama had been a better student of political history he would have know the first shots fired at any president come from the media. It wasn’t Republicans who dogged the Clinton indiscretions for eight years it was the media. It won’t be the RNC [Republican Party] it will be the media who doges Obama. Talk radio, internet bloggers and political pundits will challenge President Obama’s every word for the next 4 years. Obama isn’t good enough to take them all on as we saw when he recently tried to destroy the Rush Limbaugh legion as merely being the mouth of the Republican Party. Obama has yet to learn never underestimate an advocacy especially one with 25 million admirers. Obama mistakenly believes what his press releases are saying about him he also mistakenly underestimates the rest of America as being intellectually inferior to him.

Obama’s a closet socialist or perhaps I should say a welfare socialist. Having been raised in the welfare system and he’s spent his entire life as a child of the government how can we now expect him to understand market based economies when he doesn’t know the meaning? In young Berry’s world anything connected with profit was evil profits were only meant to suppress the workers. Those people who taught young Berry about corporate / government partnerships were only discussing theory not reality. Young Berry doesn’t understand in the past 50 years the government hasn’t been able to successfully organize a one car funeral and certainly not how to successfully run a country.

I have no doubt Barack Obama truly believes what he’s doing to screw this country up is the right thing. There’s no question he hasn’t a clue concerning the real world he’s been called on to lead for the next four years. The first thing one learns as a welfare child in the system there are no lies or liars, all explanations are based on what’s prudent at the moment. Either Welfare and Socialism or Capitalism is based on lies. Socialism with its partner welfare has failed everywhere it’s been tried. Capitalism is the new economic wave sweeping across the world. With capitalism comes personal freedom, it allows the individual to sink or grow rich depending on the effort they’re willing to put forward. Capitalism also means government officials lose most of their power over the citizens of their countries. Obama seems to prefer the parliamentary system over what we have. Parliamentary houses operate based on who shouts the loudest the longest.

What’s frightening about the Obama’s in government is they actually believe in what their doing as do over 33% of the American people. In a recent poll only 53% of the population still believes in the capitalist system. Its essential something has to be done to rekindle the fires of Reagan Conservatism and get America beyond the quagmire Obama and the 111th congress are creating. As Ronald Reagan so eloquently put it “Government is not the solution to our problems, government is the problem!” those are word for every American to live by. It was the entrepreneurial spirit that built America and it’s that same spirit that keeps it moving forward not necessarily the government.

Lyndon Johnson’s civil rights legislation was the first step in making blacks equal members of society. Johnson’s Great Society was the second step in putting blacks back into a form of economic bondage by creating the welfare [nanny state] system. The Kennedy Brothers and Lyndon Johnson laid a guilt trip on America its suffering from over 50 years later. The welfare system with its socialist base fans the fires of political discontent in America that is not the way it was intended to work. Government / commercial partnerships and welfare violate the sprit of the constitution.

I say the current economic down turn is Obama’s Katrina because as any fool knows a hurricane can’t be stopped by throwing water on it, nor can rebuilding take place in the middle of a storm. When the rains dry up and the sun comes out the American people will put things back together as they have in the past not the government. Obama doesn’t have the constitutional authority to dictate much of what he’s doing. For the most part he’s limited by the advice and consent of congress. It should be a requirement every person running for an elective office in the federal government take and pass a six weeks course in constitutional law.

April 15th 2010 when the tax man comes around with Obama’s increases it will take to at least off set the cost of some of these new Obama programs reality will sink in and the public will be looking around for a new congress who will put and end to this Obama / 111th congress madness.
