Governor Scott Walker: If I Were You…
By: Michael John McCrae
…I would be sending my state and local police officials through the crowd now surrounding you; demanding you continue to pay exorbitant wages and benefits; simply asking for their identification. They need not ask anything else. All those names and addresses should be returned to your office.
It is known that many of those individuals protesting; pressuring you to continue to drive your state into bankruptcy are teachers and other government workers who should be in their classrooms teaching Wisconsin’s children or serving the public in some capacity. Their being on a picket line instead of being on the job is a dereliction of duty.
It is known too that many of these individuals are receiving phony doctor’s notes for their period of transgression and that they are actually being paid by the taxpayers of Wisconsin for fraud. If I were you, I would ensure each name gathered by the police was investigated and that every name requesting sick pay compensation for the period of protest be fired for cause; in this case, defrauding the state government and Wisconsin taxpayers of funds.
When it comes to teachers in the State of Wisconsin we can see they have not been doing a very good job. A recent report from CNSNEWS.COM entitled: Two-Thirds of Wisconsin Public-School 8th Graders Can’t Read Proficiently—Despite Highest Per Pupil Spending in Midwest, 22 Feb 2011, by Terence P. Jeffrey: Tells me that Wisconsin has been spending much of its money on incompetence.
From the article: “Two-thirds of the eighth graders in Wisconsin public schools cannot read proficiently according to the U.S. Department of Education, despite the fact that Wisconsin spends more per pupil in its public schools than any other state in the Midwest. In the National Assessment of… 2009… 66 percent of Wisconsin public-school eighth graders earned ratings below “proficient,†including 44 percent who earned a rating of “basic†and 22 percent who earned a rating of “below basic.â€
Continuing: “The test also showed that the reading abilities of Wisconsin public-school eighth graders had not improved at all between 1998 and 2009 despite a significant inflation-adjusted increase in the amount of money Wisconsin public schools spent per pupil each year. In 1998… Wisconsin public school eighth graders scored an average of 266 out of 500 on the NAEP reading test. In 2009, Wisconsin public school eighth graders once again scored an average of 266 out of 500 on the NAEP reading test.â€
So if I were you Governor Walker I would be looking at this ten year record of failure very hard. The rest of the article explains how costs per student have grown, salaries for teachers have grown and yet education has not improved. Wisconsin’s teachers are not only incompetent, but they have been perpetrating fraud against the state for ten years; collecting wages and benefits in excess of $100,000 per teacher, while doing little, if anything to bring excellence in learning to Wisconsin’s children. You might even discuss the article with the governors of Illinois, Minnesota and Nebraska: all written about in the article: all falling into the same trap built by incompetent teachers.
Yes, Governor Walker, if I were you I’d just stand my ground. There just isn’t any more money. Whatever the Federal Government is promising you to cave to the demands of incompetent union employees is smoke. The Federal Government is even more financially broken than your poor state. Do not trust them and do not accept any “bailout†that gives the unions what they want at the future expense of Wisconsin taxpayers. That your plan will save Wisconsin $300 million over two years would certainly help dent Wisconsin’s current budget shortfalls. I hope that eventually, one Democrat might change his/her mind about supporting fraud, incompetence and graft; return to the Capital, and do what is right to get the state back on a secure fiscal track.
Too, I would hope that your supporters would get together and consider impeachment of all those Democrats now absent from the duties they were elected to do. This too is fraud, incompetence and deceit. Those absent democrats were elected to represent their entire constituencies (Wards, Counties), and in truth, their sole purpose in the walkout was to support the democrat agenda of higher wages, dues and hence campaign contributions to democrats. And when you boil all of that down it is the only reason President Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Jesse Jackson have thrown their weight behind the protestors. They are all contributors to the Obama machine!
Stand your ground Governor Walker. You are right!
