Barack Hussein Obama and Eric Holder: “Cowards†On Race? Part I
By: Michael John McCrae
From the June 23rd report by AP reporter Hope Yen entitled: “Census shows whites lose US majority among babies†comes some startling facts…â€Preliminary census estimates…show the share of African-American households headed by women – made up of mostly single mothers – now exceeds African-American households with married couples, a sign of declining U.S. marriages overall but also continuing challenges for black youths without involved fathers.â€
Single parent (mostly headed my women) households in the black community now outnumber two parent black households. Black youths are growing up without “involved fathersâ€. This is not being argued or debated by anyone who can do anything about it. There is only silence from the Obama White House and Eric Holder’s Department of Justice. There is silence from the Congressional Black Caucus, the NAACP and even the so-called pillars of the Black Community; the Reverends Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. There are no major Black voices out of Hollywood or the Sports communities. Even Ophra Winfrey doesn’t make a big stink about all these young black girls trying to raise babies alone. The only voices of reason are coming from the Right, with the one exception of Bill Cosby who has been repeatedly shouted down for daring to tell the truth.
I have read columns and books written by Starr Parker, Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, Michal Massey, Larry Elder, Clarence Thomas and Condoleezza Rice among others. I have heard current speeches by Herman Cain and Alan West. But I hear no warnings or admonitions from Louis Farrakhan, Jeremiah Wright, Sharpton or Jackson; who are supposed to be preachers of some type of morality that might cause black men to wake up to their personal responsibility to take care of the children they’ve fathered. Hell, Jesse Jackson wasn’t supporting his own spawn of adultery! How many years since the Million Man March? Why hasn’t there been any improvement in the numbers of black men willing to marry the black girls they get pregnant?
As the Obama White House talks about childhood obesity, trans-fats and the need for more tofu-burgers it stays uniquely silent of the destruction of the black family unit. From the article: “Demographers say the numbers provide the clearest confirmation yet of a changing social order, one in which racial and ethnic minorities will become the U.S. majority by midcentury…”We’re moving toward an acknowledgment that we’re living in a different world than the 1950s, where married or two-parent heterosexual couples are now no longer the norm for a lot of kids, especially kids of color,” said Laura Speer, coordinator of the Kids Count project for the Baltimore-based Annie E. Casey Foundation.â€
And that is all true. As American moral values continue to take severe hits from the activist homosexual community, atheists, socialists, communists, liberals-progressives and every other Democrat special interest group the “social order†of America is trending more and more to government dependency, sloth, greed and the attitude that government exists to give “cradle to grave†care for every aspect of American life. It is no more than government making slaves of people who’ve accepted the lie that they need never take personal responsibility for their choices: that government will always be there with some “program†to bail them out.
Okay, so it’s not the 1950’s anymore. But when did fathers stop caring for their children? When did it become morally acceptable to breed children out of wedlock? When did it become more important to depend on a government program to raise a family?
From the report: “While the number of black single mothers has been gradually declining, overall marriages among blacks are decreasing faster. That reflects a broader U.S. trend of declining marriage rates as well as increases in non-family households made up of people living alone, or with unmarried partners or other non-relatives.â€
All of that impacts children. Children deserve stable home environments. Roll models should be mother and father; where father works for the bread and mother cares for the home; where there is scouting, baseball, soccer and “family nightâ€. Children should not have to return home from school to an empty house; no parent to ask about their day, discuss report cards, help with homework or prepare a meal. It’s simply called “caringâ€. And caring isn’t just words: it is actions. And caring isn’t to be shuffled off to a government trolling for votes. Caring is to be done by involved parents.
From the report: “Tony Perkins, president of the Washington, D.C.-based Family Research Council, a conservative interest group, emphasized the economic impact of the decline of traditional families, noting that single-parent families are often the most dependent on government assistance…”The decline of the traditional family will have to correct itself if we are to continue as a society,” Perkins said, citing a responsibility of individuals and churches. “We don’t need another dose of big government, but a new Hippocratic oath of ‘do no harm’ that doesn’t interfere with family formation or seek to redefine family.”
Recent economic news tells us there are more people on food stamps than ever before in the history of that program. There is news that the African-American community is at 20 percent unemployment and rising. The “traditional†Black family is bearing the brunt of America’s worsening economic situation and yet the voices that should be admonishing these men and women to take responsibility stay quiet or recommend more worthless programs that only seem to exacerbate the problems. The Black voices of reason are either shouted down or completely ignored.
The President is busy raising funds for his reelection. Eric Holder is busy suing the states of Arizona and Alabama. Apparently, they cannot be bothered; believing American blacks are locked in for the vote they are concentrating on Latino votes and placating La Raza. (Part One of Three Parts)
