The most glaring fact about our President is that he is an empty suit, and he has surrounded himself with other empty suits.  Those whom we have come to call “leftists” are in fact nothing but nihilists, and we flatter them when we presume that they value anything beyond their vanities, their avarice, and their selfishness.  When tragedy strikes, these empty suits can look and act appropriately somber and serious, but it is all for show, and the intended audience are Americans who have been carefully cultivated into creatures who emote in response to momentary appearances but who cannot think clearly or remember the past.  FDR freely acknowledged that he had no real plan to fix the nation’s economic distress.  His treasury secretary, Henry Morgenthau, six years into the New Deal, admitted to Congress that: “We have never made good on our promises. … I say after eight years of this administration we have just as much unemployment as when we started… and an enormous debt to boot!”  What is memorable about FDR is his rhetoric and not his substance, and that rhetoric has been made memorable because of the fawning attention of biased historians.   JFK said a lot, but he failed in almost everything he did and even his rhetoric was all impression and emotion, which is why Americans who heard the Nixon-Kennedy debates on radio thought Nixon clobbered Kennedy, but those who saw the two on television judged Kennedy the winner.  Kennedy and “Camelot” was just a mystique.  He had a glamorous wife whom he cheated on constantly; Kennedy was a serial adulterer, and recently we learned that he had sex with an underage intern, whom JFK tried to get to use drugs.  Clinton, another leftist “success story,” was just as much a failure.  His lying was so ubiquitous that leftists actually began to opine about the virtue in society of lying.  Now we have in the White House the logical successor to FDR, JFK, and Slick Willie Clinton.  It took Obama four years to present a real budget, which he was required by law to do years ago.  He still has no real plan to deal with the very dire threat of a crazy nuclear North Korea or a viciously anti-Semitic nuclear Iran.  Barack Hussein Obama is an empty suit, but he grew up idolizing the other empty suits which the left has placed in the White House.  Obama seems obsessed with the vacuous, the vapid, and the venal, so he is the Dilbert president: the meaningless meanderer in national life, the automaton who cannot function without a teleprompter.

Right from the start of his 2008 campaign, the MSM gave Obama the star treatment: a transformational figure, a visionary who would (1) unify the country and (2) lead us to a fairer economic prosperity and (3) bring us respect abroad in a world of lessened tensions, but reality is so much different than this fantasy.  In 2009 Newsweek editor Evan Thomas summed up the MSM adoration of Obama when he said, “I mean in a way Obama’s standing above the country, above the world, he’s sort of God.”  The  god-factor resulted in a de factodon’t ask don’t tell” pact between Obama and the media.  The media didn’t ask Obama to detail his hope and change and he didn’t tell.  Gods don’t have to explain themselves.  It was just hope and change, just trust me.  His demeanor was that of a leader above the fray and hurly-burly of beltway politics.  Not only was he a man of style and grace with a captivating smile, but a seer whose political vision was neither of the hackneyed leftist or rightist variety. Obama was charting a new “centrist” course through the Scylla and Charybdis of the old antagonisms between left and right.  The de factodon’t ask/don’t tell” pact Obama had with the media began to crumble as far back as 2011. Chris Matthews finally asked as Obama ran for a second term:
·    “There’s no Peace Corps, there is no Special Forces, there is no 50-miles hikes, there’s no moon program, there’s nothing to root for. What are we trying to do in this administration? Why does he want a second term? Would he tell us? What’s he going to do in the second term? More of this? Is this it? Is this as good as it gets? Where are we going? Are we going to do something the second term? He has yet to tell us. He has not said one thing what he’s going to do in the second term. He never tells what he’s going to do with regard to reforming our healthcare systems, Medicare, Medicaid, how is he going to reform Social Security? Is he going to deal with long-term debt? How? Is he going to reform the tax system? How? Just tell us. Why are we in this fight with him? Just tell us, commander, give us our orders [italics added] and tell us where we’re going.”
Democrats finally realized that he was not being honest about just how bad this is going to be.  He was a God [bleep] Democrat!  Since then it has been harder for the MSM to spin Obama as a visionary and unifier with transformational powers in domestic or foreign policy:
·    The great unifier – It’s identity politics in spades and out comes the community organizer — resentment mongering, class warfare, evil bankers.
·    Leading us to a fairer economic prosperity – His domestic policies were plain old tax-and-spend left-wing policies.
·    Respect abroad in a world of lessened tensions – The Arab Spring and Obama support of the Muslim Brotherhood is a bust. What the President has accomplished is alienating and diminishing our status with former allies.
It’s hard to spin any of this into superstar status. It has become well-nigh impossible to see anything special or visionary about Obama’s Presidency.  Clearly, he is on the path to being seen as a humdrum, run-of-the mill progressive with all the charisma of a Dukakis.  The decline and fall of the MSM spin is giving some rise to the “fringe” CPA (Cloward-Piven-Alinsky) spin on Obama: to bring down the white-power, racist capitalist system and turn America into a socialist state, America could be destroyed from within by overwhelming the system with debt, welfare, and entitlements.  This would proceed by inducing more and more of the American populace to become dependent on welfare, food stamps, disability, and unemployment.  The resulting collapse of the system would trigger the crisis needed to bring in a socialist state as the saving alternative to the failed, evil capitalist system.  So the MSM is stuck. The CPA spin is looney and their own spin has unraveled.  For the MSM, Obama might as well be Humpty Dumpty.  All the MSM horses and the MSM men can’t put the spin back together again.  The MSM is locked into a position where Obama is neither demon nor savior, and he is looking more and more like just another hackneyed leftist politician of the Carter-Mondale variety who never really had anything new to offer.

The absolute failure of Keynesian economics in America and the West has never been more on display than during our rocky journey through the Great Recession.  An economic contraction which our leaders say is over and those of us who work and live in flyover country know is still grinding us down to the new normal.  TARP was going to save the economy, but it didn’t.  President Obama’s porkulus stimulus was going to save the economy, but it didn’t.  QE 1 and QE 2 were going to save the economy, but they didn’t.  Then along comes QE 3 with an open ended commitment to pump 85 billion per month into the economy, and presto-changeo alakazam and miraculously the stock market is breaking new highs and the real estate market is beginning to revive.  It turns out if you magically create trillions of dollars and drop them from helicopters across the country, there seems to be more money blowing in the wind.  Hang on to your hats because a booming economy has to become part of the Obama legacy so that the transition to a centrally-controlled economy can ever be hailed as the prescription for success.  Our Constitution was not written to be a living document that evolves over time.  The words were never meant to take on new meanings with every passing generation.  The accumulation of case law and judicial proclamations was not meant to supplant the written political contract that the Sovereign States individually decided to ratify.  Contrary to the oft stated desires of the Founders of our nation and the Framers of the Constitution, the United States has evolved into a behemoth bureaucracy.  In all bureaucracies, instead of the best and the brightest rising to the top, those who learn to pull the levers the best end up controlling the machine.  Often the official leaders are merely telegenic front men for the powers behind the throne.   The grifters who have gained power through elections filled with ineligible voters, outright fraud, gerrymandering, and a two party system where-in Progressives control both parties use the living document ruse to turn the Constitution into a dead letter.  Crony capitalism has replaced free enterprise.  Just watch the big gaming table at the New York Stock Exchange as its volatile swings are dictated not by innovation, profits or production they are instead moved by real or projected government actions.  The banks act as willing accomplices of the Fed borrowing money at 0% interest and buying Treasuries at 3% helping to maintain the fiction that we aren’t monetizing our debt and printing our way to prosperity.  The foreigners who used to crowd the treasury auctions know what is going on.  Today the biggest purchasers of American debt are American banks using the Fed’s funny money.  Any semblance of a freely functioning economy has vanished since Progressive leaders like FDR, LBJ, and BHO birthed government control and intervention as an 800 pound gorilla on steroids.  The mirage of false prosperity is once again raising its crowned head out of the sea of financial calamity it created with the last bubble.  A new bubble is forming and happy days will soon be here again with a chicken in every pot and a flat screen in every home.  How many will be devastated when it all comes crashing down again?  The cost of freedom is eternal vigilance, and today’s generation may be too busy watching the game to notice their country is being transformed into something they won’t recognize by the time they get up for their seventh inning stretch.

The Gang of Eight’s 844 page comprehensive” immigration-reform bill contains a number of superficially attractive security mandates: It would require the federal government to have 100% “situational awareness” of the border, to catch 90% of illegal border-crossers in high-traffic areas, to establish a tracking system to address the problem of those who enter the country illegally but overstay their visas, etc, but Washington keeps failing to deliver its promises.  So attractive are those goals that we have supported them in the past, on the many occasions upon which the government has promised to achieve them.  The unspoken premise of the Gang of Eight bill is: This time it’s different.  Senator Marco Rubio is compared to Ronald Reagan, putting too much faith in the willingness of Washington to deliver border security in the face of opposition from ethnic-solidarity politics and the cheap-labor lobby.  Congress mandated the creation of a visa-tracking system, for instance, in 1996. Since then, Congress has on multiple occasions reiterated its demand that the executive branch comply with the law, and the executive branch has on each occasion failed to do so. The system the bill would mandate is even weaker than the system already mandated: It would apply at airports and seaports, but not for land crossings.  We very strongly support mandating the use of E-Verify or a similar system nationwide in order to ensure that businesses hire only those workers who are legally eligible to be employed in the United States.  Mandating E-Verify is so obvious and sensible a move that it should have been done years ago in a standalone piece of legislation, but that bill was rejected, and those who opposed it, including business interests and farm-state Republicans, will have similar incentives to water down enforcement provisions in any compromise bill that passes Congress.  The full implementation of the three main security measures: national E-Verify, the visa-tracking system, and the 100/90 border-control standard, would have to be ratified before the second stage of the program, a “path to citizenship” for former illegals, would be implemented.  If those goals were not met within five years, then a panel of border-state governors and attorneys general would inherit the responsibility and authority for seeing to it that they were met thereafter.  Essentially, this bill would give immediate amnesty in exchange for a DHS plan backed by a border-state panel’s plan to have a plan.  It not only would offer amnesty to the 11 million or so illegals currently in the country but also would readmit many of those who have been deported.  The argument for normalizing the status of illegals already resident in the United States has in the main proceeded from the fact that they are already resident in the United States, offering legal status for those who are not living in the United States is indefensible.  Further, the bill would open up the floodgates for unskilled laborers.  Many of those unskilled laborers would be brought in under guest-worker programs, which are in and of themselves objectionable.  They amount to nothing more than the creation of a caste of second-class workers for the benefit of certain business interests.  The most objectionable feature of the bill is this: While there would no doubt be a great deal of theater involved in the evaluation of the three main security triggers described above, the trigger for the amnesty itself, creating “provisional” legal status for the millions who have entered the country illegally, would be almost entirely meaningless: The Department of Homeland Security would merely have to affirm in writing that it had plans to do something about border security, and that money had been appropriated for doing so.  This is an amnesty-first bill, despite protestations to the contrary.  Under its provisions, illegals would be made legal almost immediately.  The three-part security test would need to be satisfied only for the embarkation upon the “path to citizenship.”  Citizenship is of little value to those who crossed the border illegally for purposes that are mainly economic and whose U.S.-born children will be citizens regardless.  The compromise combines the worst of both worlds: It offers an immediate amnesty that creates a magnet for even more illegal immigration, and then it leaves those illegals lingering for years as part of a permanent underclass, doing little toward assimilating them into the mainstream of American life.  The Gang of Eight bill is a cobbled-together beast, a truly ugly creature of politics.  If Washington were serious about border security and controlling illegal immigration, then Congress would pass a mandatory E-Verify bill, and the executive would enforce it, finish the job of securing the border, and implement visa controls.  More broadly, our immigration procedures would be reoriented toward the economic needs of the country rather than other concerns.  Once that had been accomplished, once credibility on the issue of border control had been restored, then the time might come to talk about normalizing the status of those who are here illegally.  It is unlikely that the Gang of Eight bill can be saved through the amendment process, it is structurally defective because the thinking behind it is defective.  Finally there is nothing in this bill that addresses birthright citizenry, so called “anchor babies” that guarantee citizenship to newborns and opens the immigration door to the rest of their families.  A Fox News poll found that 68% of voters want new border security measures to be completed before any changes to immigration policies!  We have laws; we have lavishly funded law-enforcement agencies; but what we lack is political leadership that will put law enforcement and the national interest above parochial concerns, be they commercial or ethnic and the Gang of Eight bill will not change that, nor will promises that this time it’s different.

The Department of Health and Human Services has just handed out a $3.1 million PR contract to improve the public image of ObamaCare, designed to convince skeptical, or simply confused, Americans the Affordable Care Act is good for them and convince them to enroll in a health plan.  The facts today are that ObamaCare remains as unpopular now as when it was passed in 2010, and Democrats are increasingly worried it will return to haunt them in the midterm election next year, the first to take place after the stepped-up implementation of the law. At no point since its passage has ObamaCare been viewed favorably by more than 45% of voters, and the latest Kaiser Family Health Foundation poll pegs its nationwide support at only 37%.  The administration is already preparing its excuses if insurance premiums skyrocket next year and parts of ObamaCare miss key start dates. HHS secretary Kathleen Sebelius complained this month that “no one fully anticipated” the difficulties involved in setting up ObamaCare.  Many of her fellow Democrats aren’t exactly following her line.  West Virginia senator Jay Rockefeller, one of the main architects of Obamacare, calls the bill “probably the most complex piece of legislation ever passed by the United States Congress.”  The train wreck that Senator Baucus foresees could push young people into “rate shock” as their premiums increase to subsidize care for older Americans. ObamaCare’s “community rating” rules and benefit mandates might prompt employers to drop coverage or avoid hiring new employees.  There are a lot of businesses that are thinking of self-insuring or finding any loophole they can to avoid the most onerous parts of ObamaCare.  Don’t be surprised if many Democrats in Congress join with Republicans later this year in calling for a one-year moratorium on the implementation of ObamaCare. There’s even a chance the administration will join them in asking for a delayed implementation, and that wouldn’t be the kind of bipartisanship deal the establishment media has been calling for lately, but it might just be one of the most popular moves Washington could make.

Islam may be the most sterile philosophy to have captured the mind of man because no other philosophy so thoroughly destroys whatever people it has gotten a grip on. Once Islam is firmly in control, the society not only halts in its progress, but actively devolves.  The greatest lies come from the patent fabrications about Islamic Spain, Moorish Andalus(ia):
·    Arabic numeral system – Actually, the concept of zero, and the numeral system, were invented by Hindus, brought to Europe by the Arabs.
·    Algebra – They might have given us the name (Al-Jabr) but a lot of their logic is based on older Indian or Greek sources.
·    Medicine – The most famous medical mind during that time was Moses Ben Maimonides, a Jew who had to flee Spain because of Muslim excesses.
·    Architecture – Muslim architecture came from the Christian Byzantine Greeks. All the Muslims did was steal it from Eastern Christians and relabel it as made by Islam.
·    Aqueducts – The glorious aqueducts used by the Muslims in Spain were built by the Romans. All Islam did was clean out the gutters of accumulated trash.
This is a constant pattern of Islam.  It invades a society where, for a century or two, there is enough remaining pre-Islamic genius to echo on for a while.  Over time, coerced conversions increase with the accruing stupefaction of national intellect.  As the light dims and goes out, the Muslims, now thoroughly in charge, take the credit for the former flame lit by others.  Whatever genius does come out of Islam is the echo of a pre-Islamic past.  The Golden Age of an Islamic Conquest is actually the Last Hurrah of the former civilization.  After conquest, the creative period remaining is brief, and after two or three centuries of Muslim rule, senility and reversion set in.  The reverence that Islam still holds for the glories of Spain indicates Christian Spain held a genius that Islam could not generate within itself.  All empires draw talent inward, except Islam, where genius exists only at the periphery where Islam is weakest. The center of Islam, the Arabian peninsula, has been moribund since the 8th century.  Without new conquests, it dies. This is why it cannot surrender any territory. This is why Israel infuriates them so much.  The Muslims could not even invent their own god. Mohammed just borrowed his family’s favorite god from the pantheon of Mecca’s local deities.  Mohammed’s father was named Abdullah (slave of Allah), indicating a pre-Islamic existence to Allah.  Mohammed mixed this plagiarism with corruptions of Christian texts and Jewish legends.  Islam is the very essence of plagiarism, and poor plagiarism at that.  But Islamic puritans now want to ban music.  Islam bans representational art as idolatry.  It covers up women in burqas.  Whatever is beautiful, it condemns as blasphemous and idolatrous.  It denies that which makes life worth living, while exalting suicidal violence.  It is anti-human.  No other religion has gone so far down this road.  Islam produces almost nothing, but claims to have produced everything.  At best, it borrows and transmits the genius of others.  Usually, it plagiarizes and corrupts what it steals.  Eventually, it destroys whatever it touches.  Our Western governments have to stop coddling the Muslims and telling them how respectable Islam is.  Tell the truth.  Without oil, Islam would be still be in the seventh century, and the problem is not the Arab, who is capable of great genius, because the problem is Islam.

Once the Boston Marathon bombers were identified, their uncle, Ruslan Tsarni, delivered the best analysis of his nephew’s despicable actions and impact on the Muslim world.  First, he felt like all Americans, shaken and angry.  He expressed condolences for those murdered and injured in the attacks.  He never ever imagined that somehow, the children of his brother would be associated with this tragedy.  After expressing the shame he feels for his family association with these attackers, he doubles down on why he really thinks his nephews bombed the Boston Marathon.  “What I think was behind it, being losers.  Not being able to settle themselves, and thereby just hating everyone who did.”  When asked why they might have done what they did, he offered “Anything else to do with religion, with Islam, is a fake.  It’s a fraud.”  He goes on to posit that “someone must have radicalized them” but defends his brother by saying he doesn’t think it was the bombers’ father who did it, as he “spent his life bringing bread to their table, fixing cars.  He didn’t have time or chance or anything; [his only] option was working.”  Mr. Tsarni has rejected envy, Communism, and Islamic jihad in favor of what we Americans hold dear, and whether he practices a Muslim faith, Christian faith, or a lack of faith altogether is incidental.  He makes it abundantly clear that whatever led these “losers” to bomb innocent people is not the Islam that he subscribes to, and that he finds any practice of Islam that would condone murdering innocent people as abhorrent as the vast majority of Americans find it.  And he concludes, with a passion rarely seen outside those who’ve escaped the Iron Curtain, with a statement describing his thoughts about America.  “I teach my children, and that’s what I feel myself.  This is the ideal micro-world in the entire world. I respect this country, I love this country.  This country, which gives chance to everybody else to be treated as a human being, and to just be human being. And feel yourself human being.  That is what I feel about this country.”  This man could not be more American.  It doesn’t matter where he came from, how much money he makes, or what God he worships.  And he is right: that is what makes America great.  Ruslan Tsarni shows America an example of a Muslim living by and believing in American values, and he vehemently denounces armed jihad.  Islamic radicalism truly seems foreign to him, and one has to imagine that he is hardly unique, and this example urges all Americans who believe in freedom, regardless of their position on Islam, to give that fact serious consideration.
