Wrong Direction

By: Mark Hyman

It’€™s easy to see why Americans believe our nation is headed in the wrong direction.  And on the wrong track.

The New York City Council passed — with a veto-proof majority — a bill [introduced by Councilman Jumaane Williams (Democrat – Flat Bush)] that would ban police officers from using age, gender, color, disability and whether they’re homeless in describing a suspect.  All that’s left is what clothing they were wearing.  At the time of the suspected crime.

A bill [Bill 20-142 introduced by all seven members of the Health, Judiciary and Public Safely Committee] before the Washington, DC city council would allow anatomically correct males and females to have their birth certificates changed to their desired gender.

This isn’t about those who have already undergone a sex-change.  It includes the nether world of transitioning from one sex to another.  And it’s not an amended birth certificate.  It’s the issuance of a new birth certificate.  The original would become sealed.  As if that birth never really happened.

And the California Assembly approved a bill [AB1266 introduced by Assemblyman Tom Ammiano (Democrat -  San Francisco)] that would allow any child — as young as 6 — at any public school to choose which bathroom to use and on which sport team to play.  Consistent with their gender identity.  There’s nothing in the legislation that prohibits students from changing their minds on a daily basis.

Any 8th grade girl concerned about sharing bathrooms, locker rooms and showers with an anatomically correct boy is clearly a bigot and a hater.
