That is not to say it is lost, far from it; But the winds of a truly free, fair and open media environment are not blowing so swiftly anymore and I fear that too many of us are just sitting back and enjoying the breeze. Why do I say this? After all we have Rush, Fox News…”The new media is our domain!”

Wrong. It was our domain. And while it is comforting to know that Rush is indeed still out there, it is also true that the newest frontiers of the new media are being predominated by a more organized, better funded and energized left; Both at the grass roots level and by the corporate media. Indeed, the integration of new and traditional media with all its corporate might and preexisting biases (http://www.mrc.org/biasbasics/pdf/BiasBasics.pdf) is rendering the “new” indistinguishable from the “old.”

This is important because Americans by and large obtain their information from the traditional news outlets with which they have become most familiar….They are just going on-line to do it. So, although the methods obtaining news and information may have changed a bit, it’s still largely the same folks who are managing what we hear or don’t hear. Furthermore, the old media all have extensive new media capabilities and are developing or acquiring next generation outlets. A prime example of this is the recent acquisition of Newsvine (www.newsvine.com) by MSNBC in October of last year. Newsvine is a popular news and opinion site where, according to their “About” page: “… contribution is open to all, and editorial judgment is in the hands of the community.” But, as you will discover, contribution is hardly “open to all.”

The following is an example of what happens when a conservative group, namely the New Media Alliance (www.thenma.org), join sites like Newsvine and begins to successfully develop its imprint there:

- Month 1: November ’07 – The NMA Joined Newsvine

- Month 2: December ’07 – Built our visibility with NMA articles typically making the front page, increasingly received ad hominem attacks and regular threats of censorship, our personal information was researched and published, angry Newsviners made complaints to the IRS to have us audited, complaints were routinely made to the Newsvine administration claiming we were self promoting or advertising (a “Code of Honor” no-no…and also not true).

- Month 3: January ’08 – The New Media Alliance was Kicked off Newsvine with no explanation

It is also worthy to note that during our brief tenure on Newsvine, virtually none of the responses we received had anything to do with the content of the articles. Rather, the preponderance of initial responses were nothing more than sophomoric diatribes stating their desire to get us removed from the “community” in what has become a typically left wing reflexive dash to censorship. These Newsvine trolls simply did not like what we had to say and therefore sought our removal.

The fact is, we were the victims of an increasingly popular and effective leftist tactic to suppress opposing viewpoints. On sites like Digg.com it’s known “Burying” an article or author. This “Burying” of unwanted content is typically orchestrated by cadres of our quintessentially open minded liberal friends known as “bury brigades.” I’m sure you’ll be surprised to hear (…not) that this is a common practice on virtually all similar venues. New Media Alliance Staff Writer, Ken Marrero, chronicles this tactic in a recent article:

“…While it’s odd to those of us with jobs and lives that a group of people would have nothing better to do than patrol a website looking for stuff they don’t like and then getting all their friends to join in disparaging the object of their displeasure, that is exactly what is happening. It’s successful, too. So successful that the practice has spread to similar sites such as Reddit and Newsvine. All it takes is a couple of complaints for a post or a video to be suppressed. The offended party can complain about his unfair and harsh treatment at the hands of the community and the site. Nothing will be done about those complaints.”

The Newsvine administration is keenly aware of what occurred, and by their inaction, are complicit in this egregious form of censorship. In fact, when a response was finally weaned from Newsvine, they even went so far as to compare our articles to spam and pornography as justification for eradicating us. One can only conclude that the leftist worldviews espoused by a majority of users on Newsvine mirrors those of the Newsvine organization for no attempt was made to investigate the erroneous “Code of Honor” violations being made against us or otherwise remedy the malefaction once they were advised.

Message to liberals: “Welcome to Newsvine!” Message to conservatives: “Watch your step.”

At the end of the day Newsvine and its ilk will cease to become a place that brings “together big and little media in a way which respects established journalism and empowers the individual at the same time.” Rather it is swiftly becoming just another clearing house of leftist dogma for intellectually bankrupt liberals who have no desire or need for facts or reason.

Now, to be honest I can’t say this came as a surprise…it’s what the left does and we half expected it. They are quite conscious of the fact that their ideas and positions cannot survive the scrutiny of a truly free, fair and open marketplace. So as all good little socialists past and present do, they seek to corner the market by purging all competitors.

I suppose what bothers me more is that these new media brown-shirts are intellectually incapable of perceiving the oppressive culture and its many manifestations that they are engendering, even desiring. In short, they are dangerous and their arrogant disregard for the most basic of our freedoms should beget fear in all Americans who cherish them.

Theirs is nothing less than the stuff of Fascism.

(Fascism: “A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship…”)

Imagine if these would be oppressors were to assume a position of real power and influence…oooops.

We may be closer to the edge than you may think.

My good friend Jeff Bayard came to town last week to attend the America’s Truth/Basics Project Symposium Exposing the Threat of Islamic Terrorism with me. After an illuminating and exhausting day of learning, we saw someone engaged in a heated discussion with Robert Spencer, one of the presenters. Later, my friend Jeff sent me the URL of a blog entry by this argumentative attendee. One of the neat things about my friend Jeff Bayard is he’s always uncovering interesting things. In this case, he dug up a post from our fellow attendee describing us all as “future converts” to Islam. Jeff and I have a problem with this, as you’ll see.

First, let’s recap the symposium. Roger Hedgecock kicked the meeting off and proceeded to broadcast his national radio show from a room in the rear of the hall. Dr. Moorthy Muthuswamy, nuclear physicist, described standard Islamic conquests of countries through destruction and the role of mosques in the proselytization of terror against unbelievers. Dr.. Muthuswamy also asserted that Islam is not a religion but is a political movement of conquest with the trappings of a religion.

Dr. Bruce Tefft, founding member of the CIA’s Counter -Terrorism Center, described how important it is to listen to what your enemy is saying. He pointed out that one cannot wage war against a method, terrorism, but must know and name one’s enemy, in this case Islam. Dr. Wafa Sultan exposed the fact that Islam teaches destruction and not creation, and illuminated Saudi Arabia’s funding and fertilization of Islamic terrorism. Dr. Sultan talked briefly of female genital mutilation and told that this barbaric practice is occurring in the United States today in closed Muslim society.

Robert Spencer described the Muslim Brotherhood’s stated goal of destroying Western Civilization from within and the Islamic doctrine of deception. Jeff and I liked Mr. Spencer’s presentation because he presented steps to counter Islamic conquest.

After lunch, attorney David Schippers presented the case developed by reporter Jana Davis that the Oklahoma City bombing was in fact a joint Iraqi Republican Guards/al Qu’aeda operation. Frank Gaffney, former Assistant Secretary of Defense and founder of the Center for Security Policy, discussed Islamic infiltration of our law enforcement agencies and government. He highlighted our refusal to recognize our enemy. Dr. Paul Williams outlined an alarming increase in the number of mosques in our country, the recruiting of prison inmates, and establishment of private Muslim compounds throughout our free country.

Lee Boyland, nuclear physicist and former NEST member, described nuclear weapons and the possible threat of nuclear terrorism. Carolyn Glick, deputy managing editor of the Jerusalem Post, convincingly described Iran’s nuclear program as the most acute threat to global security. Dr. Harvey Kushner, international authority on terrorism, recapped the symposium for the attendees.

And finally, Frank Wuco, former naval intelligence officer and consultant to a major U.S. military joint theater command, presented the mindset and world view of the typical Guantanamo Bay detainee.

As Jeff and I bid our goodbyes to new friends, we spotted our Muslim infiltrator on our way out. Later I would read that he considers Jeff, you, and me to be future converts to Islam.

The speakers had impeccable credentials and presented information verifiable through other sources. While our Muslim detractor denigrated and ridiculed the speakers, he never disputed their content. In fact, he reinforced and confirmed the message, and this is available for all to parse and analyze.

I think it is a safe bet that nobody would care to be deceived or forced into converting to a death cult like Islam. There is no good choice between converting to Islam or having one’s head cut off high on the neck with a sharp knife. From my perspective, such a conversion is contrary to our Creator’s plan. Yet Islam has subjugated, repressed, and distorted the psyches and bodies of its followers for so long that this is their goal and message.

When analyzing the relative merits of competing belief systems, it is vital to note both method and result. In this case, we have Islam versus every other belief system, Judeo-Christian Western civilization, Buddhism, Hinduism, Zoroastrianism, down to Shinto and Native American religion. Every one of these belief systems has a creator or creation principle. Islam veers off course by having destruction of self and other as the goal. Radical Muslims start with the destruction of the sacred female body and spirit and continue onto the destruction of every culture not their own. Zoroastrianism, one of the world’s earliest belief systems recognizes such behavior as malevolent. They called it Angra Mainyu, the “Destructive Principle.” Westerners know it as Satan. Islam has enshrined this principle as the highest good. What Dr. David R. Hawkins calls “the Luciferic Inversion” has occurred. Good and evil have been reversed.

So, we are faced with the task of deflecting and defusing the dysfunction of a religion that has metastasized into a cancerous social and political movement, fueled by oil money and driven by hatred of the West’s success. Fortunately, we come to this situation from a significantly higher spiritual level than Islam. As Robert Spencer noted, as awareness of the threat increases, the tide will turn. Americans will eventually come to understand the nature of the threat growing on its borders and in its heartland.

Meanwhile, Jeff and I have a problem with people who are encouraged to murder us and everyone who looks like us with knives for not converting to Islam. While we evaluate the situation with and from a more enlightened state of consciousness, we will not make the mistake of preparing for possible confrontation at this level. We will engage our enemies at the level they understand. So we will pray for our enemies and know that we will prevail with God’s help, but we will keep our guns oiled and our powder dry.

US, UK and Scandinavian Counter-Jihad Summit

Fairfax, Virginia, USA: April 23, 2007: Political activists and writers from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, the UK and US met on April 14 for the first international Counter-Jihad Summit, at Preben Møller Hansens inn “Den Danske Kro,” and also in separate meetings on April 15. They discussed common problems with the loss of constitutional liberties, individual rights and the rule of law due to Islamist groups who impose sharia laws and jihadist terrorism and criminality. Groups attending the Counter-Jihad Summit included Stop Islamiseringen Af Denmark (SIAD), Stop the Islamisation of Europe (SIOE), Vigilant Freedom/910 Group, and FOMI. Other groups and political parties were represented by individual members. The international group of citizen activists, politicians, journalists and bloggers discussed how to track Islamist efforts to impose sharia laws in their countries. Participants also began coordinating among groups to resist Islamisation across Europe, the UK, and the US, starting with the Brussels Rally to Stop the Islamisation of Europe on September 11, 2007. Similar rallies are planned in the U.S. and other countries.
The Summit focused on the challenges of resisting Islamisation:

-Restore the legal equality of all religions: no special treatment of Islam in the law.

-Restore constitutional liberties: prevent further restrictions of freedom of speech, religion, press and sexual orientation, and work to restore all of these freedoms.

-Restore social and cultural equality of all religions, and separation of secular and religious institutions: no more special treatment or accommodations of Islam in society as a whole, or efforts to prevent assimilation rather than separate cultures (special prayer rooms, segregated facilities for women, etc.)

-Implement existing laws: enforce laws especially Islamist incitements to violence, violation of constitutional laws, discrimination against women and other races and religions, and jihadist terrorism and criminality.

-Focus political debate: force politicians to think again on changing our laws to suit Islam or the Islamic way of life, rather than expecting Islam to assimilate within the constitutional laws and social norms of each nation.

-Resolve contradictions between national constitutions and the Koran: passages in the Koran advocate discrimination against non-Muslims and women, and call for actions that contravene national constitutions. SIAD has called for Muslims living in Denmark to delete these passages if they are to live under national laws. Other nations face the same dilemma.

According to Anders Gravers of SIAD, “The September 11 Brussels rally to Stop the Islamisation of Europe (SIOE) reflects the attitude of most people in Europe – that Islam is being favored above indigenous European cultures, and that Muslims are being selectively protected by politicians and lawyers at the expense of non-Muslims who often find themselves unprotected…… SIOE also challenges the funding by Saudi Arabia for the building of mosques and other Islamic institutions in Europe and elsewhere around the world, when that country itself outlaws any religion other than Islam, any politics other than Islam, and any jurisprudence other than Islam. Such asymmetric funding must be stopped. No more mosques until we see churches in Mecca.”

March 12/06/Reno, NV – As frustration within the Conservative ranks begins to reach record levels, the timing of the largest event in the West couldn’t be better. In October of 2007 thousands of Conservatives looking to organize and network on a scale that has yet to be seen will meet in Reno, Nevada for the first annual Conservative Leadership Conference.

The conference, hosted by Citizen Outreach, will have a heavy emphasis on new media and the 2008 Presidential elections. The event will play home to some of the nation’s top Conservative activists and bloggers who desire to see the movement grow into a powerful force in US politics. Organizers are planning hot issue panels, campaign training, blogger courses, Presidential candidate speeches, and a National straw poll.

The visionary’s behind the conference held back no punches in making certain this will be a world class event. The venue for the conference is John Ascuaga’s Nugget Resort, located in Reno/Sparks Nevada. Unlike other similar conferences, the venue has ample resources and tools that will help attendees network and spread the message. With 1,900 rooms, luxury facilities, high speed internet access throughout the entire event center, ample entertainment and dining opportunities, along with a carefully chosen line up of high profile guests and speakers, the venue is certain to be the perfect environment for such an event.

Scheduled and invited speakers live little to be desired as well. Grover Norquist, founder of Americans for Tax Reform in DC, has signed on and his organization is a co-sponsor of the event. Talks are taking place to bring in the likes of Newt Gingrich, Michelle Malkin, Hugh Hewitt, and Morton Blackwell just to name a few. Organizers also expect the GOP Presidential hopefuls to be in attendance.

CLC07 has already turned heads across the nation as many activists have been desperate for such large scale coordination within the Conservative ranks. Austin Walne, a conservative activist from Knoxville, said that he is “glad the libertarian wing is starting to organize in force to balance things a bit.” A sign that a growing part of the “sleeping giant” is ready to wake from its slumber.

Eric Odom, Conference Director, said “Conservatives have a winning message, but we have yet to organize in a manner that can challenge bloated government and bankrupt liberal policy from outside the beltway.” Indeed, Conservatives have been lacking in this area for years now and CLC07 was founded with a vision to change it. “What makes us different is that we’re opening the door for Conservatives who can’t afford to attend a DC based event and we’re making it possible for the front lines of the grassroots movement to finally get involved in fueling the movement with a fire that is badly needed”, said Odom.

Bloggers will be excited to know that they are looked upon as a vital part of this event. In fact, CLC07 was originally “Blogging Man 2007”, a convention aimed at bringing the Conservative blogopshere into a new level of awareness and helping bloggers network in a way that would unify the over all message.

But the event quickly grew into something much bigger than what the planners had expected. Organizers began shifting it into a national gathering of Conservatives with the goal of streamlining the movement and rallying those who have an interest in the future of America.

The final result is the Conservative Leadership Conference, an event that is sure to play a major role in the future of Conservatism in America.

Americans will perform any legal job necessary to support themselves and their
families. As an illustration, recently 70 US citizens were dismissed from an
Alabama construction site by a foreman who said the dismissal was “because the
Mexicans had arrived”. Linda Swopes, who operates Complete Employment Services
in Mobile AL said: "I assure you it is not true that Americans don’t want to
work. We had been told that 270 jobs might be available, and we could have
filled every one of them with men from this area, most of whom lost their jobs
because of the hurricane." The identified Mexican illegal immigrant workers
were simply willing to work for less money than were US citizens.

Illegal immigrants to the US cost the country at least $10 billion more than
they contribute to the economy. The CIS (Center for Immigration Studies)
advises that if amnesty is put into place, these costs to the American economy
(and the American taxpayer) will triple. The average illegal immigrant family
uses $2,700/year more in services than it pays in taxes. In 2002, this
amounted to a $10.4 billion drain on the federal budget. Some of the greatest
federal costs included: Medicaid ($2.5 billion); treatment for the uninsured
($2.2 billion); food assistance programs ($1.9 billion); the federal prison
and court systems ($1.6 billion); and federal aid to schools ($1.4 billion).

False:
The US Justice Department reported that in 2003, alone, 270,000 illegal
immigrants had served prison time. The Federation for American Immigration
Reform reports: "In March 2000, Congress made public Department of Justice
statistics showing that, over the previous five years, the INS had released
over 35,000 criminal aliens instead of deporting them. Over 11,000 of those
released went on to commit serious crimes, over 1,800 of which were violent
ones; including 98 homicides, 142 sexual assaults, and 44 kidnappings. In
2001, thanks to a decision by the Supreme Court, the INS was forced to release
into our society over 3,000 criminal aliens who collectively had been
convicted of 125 homicides, 387 sex offenses, and 772 assault charges."

The Federal
Bureau of Prisons estimates that fully one-third of current prison populations
are comprised of non-citizen illegals.

Islamic
terrorists, including Mexicans with terrorist ties, have entered and are
continuing to enter the US via our unsecured borders.

The violent
MS-13 Salvadoran gangs have illegally immigrated across the US-Mexico border.
MS-13 has also vowed to kill local police, Border Patrol agents and US
citizen-members of the Minutemen project, within the US.

Misleading and false: Although marketplace agricultural products are

rates." Although Samuelson’s conclusions were, for years, disputed, recently
they have been proving to be accurate.

 

Borjas writes: “My Harvard
colleague Lawrence Katz and I recently examined the impact of the 1980-2000
immigrant influx (and particularly Mexican-origin immigration) for U.S.
wages. The results are that, in the short run — holding all other things
equal — immigration lowered the wage of native workers, particularly of
those workers with the least education. The wage fell by 3% for the average
worker and by 8% for high school dropouts.” He further concludes: “These
effects imply sizable reductions in annual earnings for low-skill workers.
In 2000, the typical high school dropout earned $25,000, so that immigration
reduced his earnings by $1,200, even after all capital adjustments take
place. Mr. Katz and I also examined how much was due to Mexican immigration.
We calculated what the wage effects would have been had there been no
Mexican immigration between 1980 and 2000. We found that Mexican
immigration, which is predominantly low-skill, accounts for all of the
adverse impact of immigration on low-skill natives.” In NRO (National Review
Online), Borjas continues with: “In fact, immigration may have depressed the
wages of low-skilled workers by 5 to 8 percentage points.”
