Flowers for Peace, a change of strategy and Black Death By Jeff Jackson (3/17/04)
(An Addendum to Complacent Americans Strike Again)

Spain showed this past weekend where they stand against terror.  Struck by a terrible terrorist attack that killed so many of their citizens the nation did an immediate about face by ousting the ruling Populist Prime Minister for a Socialist one and are now vowing to call their troops home from Iraq.  However socialists benefiting from violence and the acts of terrorism is nothing new.  It has been happening for years.

Of course, one is left to ask Spain Who?  After all we went into Iraq “unilaterally” didn’t we?  How can Spain withdraw it’s troops if they weren’t there to begin with.  Tell you what, we’ll revisit that conundrum for liberals at another time.

What is more important right now is that Spain has shown the terrorists that there are still people in this world who instead of facing evil head on would rather run and hide hoping that the beast will eat them last.  But make no mistake, they will be eaten no matter what.  Detonate a bomb or 2 or 10 and kill 200 people and some will still cower from the threat and refuse to acknowledge that the only way to defeat evil is to fight it.

Instead Spain is going to attempt to appease the terrorists by not confronting terrorism.  Their answer is to send flowers and an apology so to speak and to appease by not trying to offend the terrorists.  France is trying this too, however they are also being threatened by radical Islam.  So I guess that whole “appeasement” strategy doesn’t quite work the way one would hope eh?

Does it just seem odd to only myself?  Anyone else find it odd that these bombings happened less than a week before the election in Spain?

Now there is a debate as to who was responsible.  Al’Queda claims responsibility yet there were no suicide bombers.  Spanish separatists are blamed by the news media yet early reports are that the blasting caps used were not their typical style and match those used by Al’Queda.  But the ultimate fact is that the separatists deny they did the bombing and Al’Queda has touted it as their work.

Privately I have been discussing how Al’Queda will have to change in order to continue to conduct this holy war against the west.  Now I have become more certain that not only must Al’Queda adapt it’s strategy away from suicide missions but that they have.

Al’Queda must revise it’s strategy because suicide bombers are in short supply and the supply gets shorter with each one that blows themselves up.  Radical Muslims that believe in martyrdom through killing themselves are a shrinking minority.  But Muslims that are willing to fight the west in hit and run attacks are much more common.  Still a minority, but much more common none the less.

Moving away from “suicide” missions to more common stealth bombing certainly gives terrorist organizations such as Al’Queda a vastly larger number of people to recruit from because like most other people, even most Muslims would rather live to fight another day.  The “War on Terror” is ready to take a drastic turn and tap into a vastly larger pool of potential soldiers who are much more inclined to take up a gun or plant a bomb and hopefully live to fight another day than they are to strap explosives to their stomachs and die.

The “War on Terror” is about to become much more conventional as the foot soldiers of radical Islam realize that in order to save their cause, they must first stop killing themselves.  We saw the plea from Al’Queda in Iraq begging for help and reinforcements and understanding that their days were numbered unless they adapt, adapt quickly and strike hard.

And to follow up the bombings in Spain, Al’Queda warned that they are coming for America again.  The promise is of black death.  And make no mistake it is coming.  And make no mistake we have seen the strategy of Islamic Terrorists, which is to strike at the infidels around elections to weaken the resolve of people against their current leaders who have stood up against them.

Black Death is coming.  It is coming because these terrorists think that they can do the same thing here in America as they did in Spain and within a week or two of our November Presidential elections.  I have grimly come to accept that Al’Queda will indeed attempt to strike the United States once again and that such an attempt will occur around the November election with the help of complacent Americans who think that the War on Terror is all but over.

God willing we will prevent it.  But Divine Providence often works in ways that we would rather it not.  My heart breaks to think that God would see fit to allow another attack upon this great nation simply to remind complacent Americans who have forgotten that evil exists and who have forgotten the events of September 11th, 2001.  But if that is what it takes it will indeed happen because God will ensure the survival of this Republic even if it means allowing evil to smite us once again.

Divine Providence shall lead us and it will protect us in the way to best ensure the survival of this nation under God.  The only way to prevent the “black death” is to remain vigilant and be willing to understand the existence and the intent of evil.  If we don’t the lessons learned will be dire and gory and the blood of our countrymen shall be on our hands and our hands alone as punishment.  The blood of our citizens and soldiers and all people of the world who suffer under the boot of terror will be upon the hands of the complacent Americans that refuse to confront and defeat Evil.
