After time spent in smoke filled rooms with hand wringing so furious that you could hear it 2 blocks away the report is out. And the report is old news! Aside from the asked for resignations of Senior Vice President Betsy West, Executive Producer Josh Howard, Senior Broadcast Producer Mary Murphy compounded by the outright release, do not pass GO and do not collect $200 of Mary Mapes nothing new happened at CBS. Surprisingly however the fault appears to be being laid at the feet of a disproportionate number of women. Hmmmm I wonder when the gals from NOW will show up on this issue!

But I digress and really it is nothing new for the left to discard women when they see fit and ask them to fall on the sword to protect the liberal men who run screaming like school girls from the confrontation.

The report had nothing new. The findings were simple and we already had the answers and basically boils down to four truths. First, CBS FAILED to do its journalistic due diligence by verifying sources, and authenticating documents. Secondly CBS FAILED to include in its story presented as “fact” that there were numerous people that said the information was false for various reasons and instead focused on the "Get Bush!" juiciness of the story. Thirdly it FAILED to inform the American people watching that the person that supplied the documents was deeply involved with the Kerry campaign. And finally that CBS KNOWLING provided this false information and other facts to the American people.

The report, as many bureaucratic investigations are, is mostly a white wash of what happened. The report claims no bias. But I am sorry, I cannot swallow that lie hook, line and sinker. According to the report Dan Rather STILL is sticking to his story and reports "Rather informed the Panel that he still believes the content of the documents is true because 'the facts are right on the money,' and that no one had provided persuasive evidence that the documents were not authentic."

No bias indeed! It is odd that Dan Rather would say that the “facts” in a series of FORGED memos is authentic and that there has been no “persuasive” evidence provided that they were not. Have you seen the overlays of the modern word processors and the parsing of the language used by military personnel? Yeah, there is no “bias” here. And my dog can sing “Hello My Baby” and dance too! We'll be at Carnegie Hall this weekend. Only $500 per person to see him to so all you gullible enough to think Dan Rather and CBS are still trustworthy show up! I'll gladly take your money.

Rather has nothing to back up his story EXCEPT forged documents and the words of those that provided them. And he is sticking to that? Any “journalist” that would go this far needs to be fired, but somehow, in a stroke of clarity, Rather saw the writing on the wall weeks ago and agreed to step down and avoid the ax.

So there was nothing new told to us by the CBS Report. It’s the same old same old from the liberal elite in certain ivory towers of the media.

“We did nothing wrong.”

“We are not biased.”

“We’ll make some women fall on the sword to save the men.”

“What we said was still true even though we cannot prove it.”

“Please keep watching. We won’t let it happen again.”

And while they are saying all this, they are out there looking for the next set of lies to feed to the American public because they don’t like someone and believe that it is their RIGHT as journalists to tear down someone that they do not like no matter what the truth is.

I wonder how long until Mary Mapes is offered a position at the Democratic Party? I’m sure her phone has not stopped ringing.
