The Dream of America By Jeffrey J. Jackson (6/13/97)

In this day and age we live in an America vastly different than the our our founding fathers envisioned for us.  When they wrote the Declaration of Independence and later the United States Constitution they sought a land where individual freedoms and liberty were above all else and government was established to serve the people.  They believed in the power and grace and glory of almighty God and that our triumph was ordained by Divine Providence.

To boil it down, they were liberals.  But not liberals in the sense of those that today call themselves as such. Today's liberals believe that socialism and communism are the great cures to human ills.  That control by government is the solution to all problems.

Today, "conservative politics" have taken over the mantle of freedom and liberty and their promotion.  Conservative Politics has taken up the mantle of smaller and less intrusive government.  The problem however has been that there are relatively few conservatives in this country.  While there are a lot of people that have conservative tendencies many times they will fall into the rut of interpreting the laws to suit their own needs and bestowing upon themselves certain "rights" no mater if such rights are no where to be found in the founding documents of this nation.

Many that call themselves "conservatives" have many of the same problems that they complain about the liberals having.

So today we stand at a dangerous crossroads for America where the very battle for the soul of this nation is to be decided.  We have come to a point where self centered desires for the wealth and labor of others makes us blind to the liberties of all free men.  We have come to a point where we are all feeding from the trough of big government in inescapable ways every day.

The only way to escape is to do so forcibly by reclaiming our power as the people and returning government to us as it rightfully belongs.  We must uphold the constitution and we must never rest until the life, liberty and pursuit of happiness of all free men is returned to them through conservative and traditional liberal fundamentals.

Live the dream and share the knowledge.  Seek to abide by the words of law and wisdom.
