The Land of the Free - A Conservative Politics Web Site

We have a sovereign nation, The United States, that stands on its own two feet. We have a constitution and a system of beliefs. Over the years many have tried to topple this system and all have failed although it can well be argued that those same enemies are now well entrenched in our own bureaucracy and still attempting its downfall.

In slightly over two centuries the United States has grown from a rabble of disunited colonies to the status of super power because of it's unique blend of brilliant people and abundant resources. We have survived for the most part without the aid of other nations. And we have survived despite the attempts of other nations whose beliefs are diametrically opposed the concepts of all men created equal and endowed unquestioningly with the rights to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

But twice we have subjected ourselves to things greater than mere alliances with our friends and the enemies of our enemies. Twice we have attempted to subject ourselves the organizations that clearly do not value our rights as free men. The League of Nations failed barely after it started. It was replaced with the current version of global government more commonly known as the United Nations.

The United Nations was said to be founded to allow nations a way to discuss and settle their differences and then ultimately act against those that are outside of the bounds of reason. A noble cause, but one that has time and again proven to be a false reasoning for it's forming. The United Nations is a forum for nations, there is no doubt. However it is a toothless beast that makes a better comfort toy for children than an actual force to be taken seriously on the international stage.

The United Nations fails. It fails because it treats all nation's government as though they are equal no mater how oppressive or cruel they are. It treats them equally regardless for how they view the basic and unalienable rights of all man kind granted by God whether these rights are to be protected or whether these rights are to be destroyed at a whim as it suits those in power. The United Nations fails because it gives legitimacy to all forms of government and all leaders no matter what.

This blind acceptance as everyone being equal and the failure of the United Nations to act against evil time and again without severe prodding or expanded motives makes it not unlike a sandbox on the playground where bullies will eventually kick everyone else out and the rest are unable to act against them because they have already be given legitimacy as the power of the playground. These tyrants continue to rule because of their friends or apologists in high places (i.e. the UN Security Council) are always interested in talking more and acting less because they do not want to set what is in their eyes, a dangerous precedent. That precedent is where certain forms of government are ultimately condemned and that may ultimately lead to their own condemnation.

And they fear that condemnation because it is these former, "in their own mind", and "never will be" world powers that need the United Nations to continue to project power that they no longer or never did have. We see this in the actions of countries such as France and Germany on the Security Council who would willfully ignore condemnations and resolutions against governments such as Iraq who stayed in violation of UN resolutions for over ten years. Their desire to act is not tied with any sort of standard but simply to their own whims be they political or what ever have you. The UN allows countries that never intend to act hold permanent veto power and in essence hold hostage those countries that would act on the previous acts of the UN.

We see the United Nations conducting boards and committees on topics designed to help maintain the civil rights of citizens in its member nations and then allow some of the worst offenders in the last 40 years to chair such committees. We see the United Nations install countries such as Israel and then condemn and sanction them when they defend themselves against aggressors. We see the United Nations reward terrorist states the likes of Palestine with a voice while continually shutting out and ignoring the please of regions such as Kashmir who are fought over year after year and refused to be recognized as an independent nation.

While formed with what could have been seen as the noblest intentions, the United Nations has proven to be nothing more than an organization where sovereign nations like the United States must seek the permission of impoverished third worlders before enacting our sovereign right to defend ourselves less we be looked down upon by the international community for going out side the channels imposed and since hijacked by tin horned despots.

We see the United Nations attempt to mimic the greatest country on this planet by guaranteeing the same rights as we have here or so it would appear on their face. In actuality though the rights are not beyond the reach of men according to the UN but rather granted simply at the behest of the UN to be retracted at any time they so see fit. We see the United Nations allow slaughters to take place in member nations based upon race religion or political beliefs without lifting a finger instead choosing to talk about it as people suffer. We see the United Nations allow the constant infringement upon the unalienable rights of free men by allowing member nations to take away the property of its citizens and redistribute it as they see fit only to have the land wither and die at the hands of new owners who do not understand how to nurture it.

We see the United Nations desire the implementation of a global tax to help fund itself and redistribute wealth from the "greedy" haves to the "less fortunate" have nots in a blatant attempt at global communism and oppression at the hands of those unelected and unaccountable to us. This despite our fighting a war for independence after being previously aroused by such an injustice. We see the United Nations move in to sovereign land in nations like the United States and exert their authority to administer and control "World Heritage Sites In Danger" again without any say of the American people affected.

The United Nations is nothing, as we clearly see, but a bureaucratic boondoggle designed to delay and remain inactive even in the face of blatant atrocities and even promote to positions of power those committing such crimes while hindering nations that have the resources and power to help themselves. Such serves only to empower those that would seek to oppress and control but are not capable because they lack the resources and the power without using a third party such as the United Nations to take it from others such as the United States. The United Nations fails to actually unite any nations, that is unless they are the enemies of the United States and of free men. What is does serve as is a reminder of how unwieldy a bureaucracy can become and how those that seek to appease will rarely solve any problem before them unless it is the problem of free men conducting life in accordance with their God given rights.

The United Nations serves not to protect the sovereignty of the United States and other nations of the world, but rather to hinder them. It hinders us and our fellow lovers of freedom by granting legitimacy to any government that crawls out from under a rock and then allowing them to speaks against and prevent us from acting in our own best interest. They shackle us with their own short comings and failings in order to bring us down to their level; the level of the lowest common denominator. It is the level to which all failed and oppressive governments fall to under the weight of their own destructive means where freedom is nothing more than the evilest of all things.
