When Senator Joe Biden called for the “Lord God Almighty himself” to be held accountable for the actions of a few misguided souls in our military that actually committed acts of violence against prisoners while stationed in Iraq he opened up another window into the soul of a socialist. Like I said in When Leftists Whine (Part 2), Mr. Biden, like many others, believes that God is responsible for the evil of this world. He would love to hold God responsible. But like I also said, God doesn’t answer to Mr. Biden.

I do agree that God allows evil to happen. God is all-powerful. He could stop all the evil in the world if He wanted to. But He doesn’t. He doesn’t simply because without evil, there is nothing to cause human beings to better our selves and it is with the free will God has given us that we commit such acts.

So in a sense, yes, God is responsible. God tests us.

Is that a bad thing? In the scheme of the individual that is effected it may seem so. Evil hurts when it lashes out and strikes you personally. However in the scheme of the universe the existence of evil is in fact very, very good. It is good, because like I just mentioned it allows humans to better themselves. All but the most insanely evil react with disgust and rally around the cause of good when evil threaten to eliminate them. And in that sense, evil is in fact a good thing.
