Liberals and social engineers are in a bind. They are promoting gay marriage and they are promoting the concept that gay unions (which they call “marriage”) in one state such as Massachusetts must be held as viable in in all other states because of the “full faith and credit” clause of the United States Constitution.
Article. IV of the Constitution sates “Section. 1. Full Faith and Credit shall be given in each State to the public Acts, Records, and judicial Proceedings of every other State And the Congress may by general Laws prescribe the Manner in which such Acts, Records and Proceedings shall be proved, and the Effect thereof. Section 2. The Citizens of each State shall be entitled to all Privileges and Immunities of Citizens in the several States.”
What this essentially says is that “full faith and credit” must be given as prescribed by Congress and that citizens of the United States regardless of the states where they live have the same rights as all United States (“the several States”) Citizens.
What the liberals and social engineers however desire it to say is that instead citizens of each state are entitled to all Privileges and Immunities of Citizens in “each of the States.” The difference is startling.
