I'm going to do something that normally I wouldn't do, but I'll give the Demo's some advice on this. If you are serious about the election Kerry should start every speech between now and election day as follows:

"I'm a liar. I've lied about my service in Vietnam for many years and it was wrong of me to accuse veterans whom I wasn't around of war crimes. When I discovered that much of the testimony I based by speech before Congress on was given by people who actually never served in Vietnam I should have corrected the record then. It was wrong of me to project my guilt over having committed war crimes onto other soldiers. It was wrong, and I am sorry. I am a war criminal.

I am vastly partisan. I objected to the Vietnam War because it suited my partisan goals and was necessary for me to win election to the Senate. I support military action against America's enemies but only when a President from my own party is in control. The record is clear and you need to know that before voting for me.

I think that Socialism is good and that higher taxes to punish the rich other than my friends and myself is a good thing. I would prefer Communism, but I think that is too big of a step for America right now. It was wrong for us to ever oppose the military expansion of Communism and I hope that one day America is Communist. I am sorry to all that I might have offended, however would you ever have voted for me if I told you that in the past? No. But today, America has shown that it is ready for Socialism and I am ready to bring it to you.

That being out in the open, I have some other topics to discus today now that you know where I stand on the major issues of the last 30 years."

They won't take that advice, but if they did, it would win back some of the "moderates" he has alienated and probably enough to win.
