The Failing Logic of A "Global Test"

Senator Kerry said with regard to the United States flexing it's military muscle "if and when you do it, Jim, you have to do it in a way that passes the test, that passes the global test where your countrymen, your people understand fully why you're doing what you're doing and you can prove to the world that you did it for legitimate reasons."
His implication of course of the War on Terror, which includes the War in Iraq, is that our "countrymen" and even "the world" do not recognize the "legitimate reasons" for being there. I hate to break it to Mr. Kerry, however the people and the world do indeed understand them. Some, including Mr. Kerry however, chose not to accept those reasons for various reasons ranging from political expedience, naivete, dislike of the United States or whatever.
The question to Mr. Kerry is what does he think of using the "global test" when those that he seeks to get approval from chose such a path of self-denial with regard to the facts and the issues over logic? The answer is, he hasn't yet thought about that but is rather simply taking a contrary position. Another question is what happens when you have an international body that passes resolution after resolution and sanction after sanction that do not work and only increase the suffering of citizens and then have that body incapable or unwilling to uphold them?
What happens, Mr. Kerry, when you have socialist regimes in Europe siding with terrorist regimes in other countries for political and economic gain and refusing to allow the United States to act in its own best interest? What happens when you "global" opposition is not based in disagreement for "legitimate reasons"?
What do you do then? You are either going to be Commander in Chief of the United States or Commander in Chief of the World Community. And those two positions are not the same thing, nor do they carry the same moral equivalence because of the constituency you would represent. The constituency of the world community includes tyrants and despots.
What happens Mr. Kerry when the rest of the world is wrong and you as a would-be President of the United States are right? How will you ever pass the "global test"? Talk to them until you make them see you are right? We tried that with Hitler once. And you see how far the "global test" got us.
Learn from history. It's lessons are worth it.
