Mental Abortion

Today, Radio Talkshow Host Glenn Beck made good on his promise to broadcast an abortion on his radio show. Well, sort of. Glenn didn't really broadcast an abortion but, in his typical style he still made the vast majority of his audience anticipate the event and feel the anxiety while thinking about what the procedure would be like.

Mr. Beck has done this before and many of his listeners still don't get it.

He built up the anxiety on all fronts. Pro-lifers sent in emails calling for him to reconsider his position on broadcasting murder. Pro-Abortionists sent in emails calling for him to reconsider. People from all ends of the political spectrum called the FCC to complain and vowed never to listen again.

Their reasons varied from the noble to the absurdity of keeping secret what they call routine "surgery". But all had to come face to face with what they thought was going to happen and never did. Glenn Beck fooled everyone once again into making them think about an issue without actually compromising his own principles and actually putting an abortion on the air. A salute to Mr. Beck for that.

While I doubted since about Wednesday that he was serious about this stunt I had thought long and hard about it. I don't even know what an abortion sounds like. Is there a sound? Would it have been boring silence? I don't know. I did know however that although I doubted Mr. Beck would actually do what he said, I had prepared for it and did kind of anticipate the event.

In the end though, satire and comedy filled the airwaves instead. And Glenn Beck succeeded in broadcasting an abortion on the radio without broadcasting an abortion on the radio. He made us all think of the abortion in our minds, and that is infinitely more powerful than hearing it on the airwaves.

God Bless you Glenn Beck, and to heck with those that just don't get it.

Representative Tom Lantos, Democrat/socialist out of California's 12th District spoke that it is wrong to criticize Kofi and the UN over the oil for food scam at a time we are looking at bringing the UN into the fold in Iraq following the June 30th turn over of power. He went on to rationalize this as saying that such criticism is against our national interest

What? It is wrong to criticize corruption? It is against our national interest? What national interest is that Mr. Lantos? Apparently what I see as our national interest differs from your view. I see our national interest as a stable Iraq with a representative government of Iraqis that will make what they will of this chance. You see our national interest as an Iraq over seen by a corrupt, globalist organization who cuts and runs at the first bullet fired and who for over a decade was content to play cat and mouse with Saddam while having member states taking kick backs and bribes.

Of course that is the globalist socialist view. I know that. Exposing corruption is never what socialism wants because the entire ideological system is built upon it. The system is built upon socializing the working man into believing that they need government while the officials in government live high on the hog and outside of that system. So this is nothing at all new for the global socialists.

But at the same time while it is wrong for us to criticize the UN and Kofi for corruption which he oversaw and let to pass and grow like a cancer it is a-ok for the socialists here in the States to constantly question and criticize the Commander in chief (The President) and OUR military. Cries of "What did he know and when" still haven't faded from the left.

That's ok because they don't like the United States. They do, however, LOVE the United Nations. So it doesn't matter if it is broke. It is true what they say. Love IS blind.

In the end, Congressman Pat Toomey could not quiet muster enough votes to oust RINO senator Arlen Specter. The final tally appears to be Specter 51% and Toomey 49%. Exactly as I predicted on Free Conservatives and other boards. It was also a disapointing voter turn out (about 20%) of registered Republicans which is a rant for another day.

Why so close? Why not enough? Two reasons; Santorum and Bush. Between the support that both Senator Santorum and President Bush gave to Senator Specter that was all it took to eek out the narrow victory. And now they shall reap what they have sewn. They shall once again have to deal with a RINO where they could have had a conservative. And they have only themselves to blame.

Specter is most likely a shoe in to win the general election in November unless a couple things happen. First thing that could happen is that those that voted for Specter in the past and Toomey yesterday will not pull any level. In such a case the Democratic Nominee will win. Second thing that could happen is that Toomey votes might see the Democratic Nominee as more conservative and vote that way in November. Again, Specter looses.

Specter has a lot of fence mending to do if he hopes to win what would appear to be his final session in Congress before retiring. He is going to have to convince Conservative Republicans to vote for him one last time. But personally speaking, the only way I will pull the lever for him in November is if he is the most conservative candidate on the ballot. And that is hoping for a lot.

Kerry's SUVs

John Kerry claims he doesn't own an SUV. As though that is supposed to make a difference when his "family" by his own admission has one and he has been spotted getting into and out of them time and time again.

Mr. Kerry, ownership has nothing to do with the environmental impact of the SUV. One can own an SUV and leave it parked in one's garage until it rots and never do a lick of "harm" to the environment. It is USE of the SUV that causes pollution. Just like it is the USE of private jets that cause pollution.

But like most environmentalist wanna-bes Kerry doesn't understand that simple of a concept. Instead, like most environmentalist wanna-bes he grandstands on the issue for political gains rather than any actual care for the environment.

Catholic Politicians and Communion

The issue won't seem to go away. And it shouldn't either. Senator John Kerry is still coming under fire as a Catholic who believes in abortion. And members of the Catholic Church continue to say that such positions are contrary to the teachings of the church and that in such cases they should not receive communion.

I'm not Catholic although I am catholic. So I am seeing this from the outside and think that it is a wonderful thing that a church that has over the years bent to the whim of their congregation time and again is finally saying enough is enough. Like I said, I am not Catholic. I don't agree with the teachings of the big "C" catholic church. But I do find myself gaining more and more respect for them each day when they begin to put their foot down.

The church is the church regardless of the denomination. You join a church because you agree with it. If you don't then why are you there? It is not the position of the congregation to mandate to the church. It is the role of the church to mandate to the congregation and for the congregation to follow. And if John Kerry can't abide by the teachings of the Church he chooses to belong to then it is not the role of the Church to make exceptions for him.

Kerry needs to either realize that or find a new home for his faith.

Pat Tillman, former NFL player, it was announced today died in the service of this country in Afghanistan. Pat Tillman, if you recall, shocked many when he gave up a multi million dollar contract with the Arizona Cardinals to join the Army Rangers after 9/11.

Mr. Tillman is a true patriot in the sense of our founding fathers who wrote "with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor."

He gave up his life and his fortune to defend this country. But he will never be deprived of his Sacred Honor because he did both for the country he loved. He was no Summer Soldier or Sunshine Patriot. Mr. Tillman was a real American. More so than many of us will ever be.

In the wake of 9/11 he gave up everything to take a bullet for Lady Liberty so that she may continue to walk the path of freedom.

You did remember right? How could you forget the day where when it was first formed we were warned by environmental nutballs that it was global "cooling" that was going to be the end of us. Of course, they later revised that position to global "warming" when the Earth warmed up a whopping 1 degree.

How could you forget the day where people like Arriana Huffington, Robert Kennedy and John "F" Kerry come out of their hole and warn us that fossil fuels are bad and that we need to "conserve" or find "alternate" forms of energy all while jetting across America in private jets, living in spacious mansions (sometimes 4 or 5 of them) and fighting tooth and nail against wind farms near their own property.

I mean HOW! How could you have forgotten!

Celebrate the environment. Don't become a slave to hysteria however...

President Bush was in Pittsburgh today at a rally for Senator Snarlin' Arlen Specter. Meanwhile U.S. Congressman Pat Toomey was at the Holiday Inn in Greentree keeping up the fight again the most liberal Republican Senator.

While my wife and I were showing our support for Mr. Toomey, others were showing up at the rally for Senator Specter simply to see the President. People that do not like Mr. Specter but showed up anyway, sided with the enemy tonight. On the news it will not be mentioned how many conservatives showed up ONLY to see President Bush, simply that X number of people showed up to support Senator Specter.

My wife and I could have gone to see the President, however it was more important that we show our support for an actual conservative and pass up the chance to see the President. Why? Because principles matter.

And when Republicans and conservatives start realizing that, this country will be a much better place. To all of those that showed up in support of Senator Specter only to see President Bush, you should be ashamed. And I make no apologies for saying that either.

Iraq after 9/11

The claim is that within months of September 11, 2001 Bush was making plans to go into Iraq. Critics of the Bush Administration use this to show that President Bush was preoccupied with looking for a reason to attack Iraq to settle his father's scores. I say hogwash.

In a world of post September 11, 2001 American forces had been in harms way in Iraq upholding U.N. sanctions and the cease fire that ended the first gulf war. American forces were being fired upon by Iraqi AA guns in the North and the South. Americans had been watching for over a decade as Saddam defied U.N. resolutions to prove the dismantling of the weapons he himself claimed to have.

America was bloody and stunned, to say the least.

It was only logical that President Bush would assess Iraq as a threat that required plans to be dealt with. It was the only major conflict that we were involved in at the time. And never forget, we went to Afghanistan first. Then we went to Iraq.

We went to Iraq because Saddam had been playing cat and mouse for far to long. He had violated the ceasefire countless times. He had failed to disarm as required by the U.N.

In a world of post September 11, a world where terrorists clearly had the U.S. homeland in their sights, Iraq was a logical target. It was a military power that had made no bones about defying the U.S. and international community. Iraq had to be dealt with.

I say thank God President Bush had enough foresight to know that and not wait until the last moment, make a hasty plan, and send our soldiers in under prepared.

Svend Robinson, a member of the Canadian Parliament, author of controversial bill that would give protections to homosexuals under Canada's hate crimes and genocide legislation, and a self proclaimed homosexual was caught with his hand in the cookie jar. He admitted to stealing an expensive ring from a jewelry show.

Mr. Robinson's legislation has come under intense scrutiny in the wake of several court cases that opponents claim will make the Bible "hate speech" when used as a source against homosexuality. Canada, like the U.S., is struggling with the nebulous concept of "hate crimes" and the thoughts of an individual instead of simply focusing on the act itself and punishing the act. Mr. Robinson claims that his bill would have no such effect.

But this most recent act begs to shed light on Mr. Robinson motivations. His motivations for such an act seems to stem from no other intent other than his blatant disregard for the laws of God, which is his right. First he disregards the Bible with respect to homosexuality and next he breaks one of the original commandments. Again, both are his right.

However it is not his right to grant privilege status to a certain group based upon his apparent disregard for the Judeo-Christian faith. It is not his right to force Christians to accept homosexuality or to even protect homosexuality from criticism. From violence yes. From criticism no. And when the crime committed is the perception of "hate" that is the charge that will be made against anyone touting the Bible to prove their point.

But then again Mr. Robinson doesn't care much about the laws of God so that is a-ok with him.

Bin Laden wants a truce?

Bin Laden today called for a truce with European nations if they lay off the middle east. Thankfully even France said "no thanks" to the request. I know, it was a shock to me too.

There are only 3 reasons to call for a truce:
1) You are pummeling your enemy and you are a merciful sort. Neither of which apply to Islamic fundamentalists the likes of bin Laden so that can't be it. 2) You are tired of fighting. Nope, not that either because this is their calling from God. To thumb their noses at God would not be something pleasant or even fathomable by these extremists. So that leaves us with 3) You are getting beat and beat badly and hope you can either buy some time to regroup or are really ready to give up.

As for the later, again, these fundamentalists won't give up because their God tells them to fight. So that leaves us with bin Laden and his band of smelly men looking for a timeout from the most severe ass-whooping they have ever gotten. They want the timeout to get a breath, to gather themselves. They want to try and get some of their opponents off their backs hoping that if they just have the U.S. to deal with they can turn the battle in their favor.

Silly notion. Silly because while we appreciate the support of our allies, the U.S. is doing 90% of the work.

Bin Laden, stick your truce where the sun don't shine.

Ever since Ms. Rice testified before the 9/11 committee I have been locked in a battle with conservative friends. For them, Condi Rice is the great savior of the Republican Party and they are already drafting plans and desires to see President Bush add her to the ticket in '04 and then run for the Presidency in '08. But back up the cart and please make sure to put the horse before it.

If there is one thing I would like better than anything else it would be to see the socialists in the Democratic Party have to attempt to destroy a female Presidential Candidate, and a black female candidate at that. But we don't know what to expect from Ms. Rice. We need to back up.

I want to see a truly conservative candidate in '08 in addition to a slightly more conservative President Bush in '04 and if Condi Rice is the one then let's start by finding out where she stands on the issues before we start making plans. Let's take a deep breath and make sure that our desires to once again out do the Democrats at their own "diversity" game does not lead us to a rash decision that harms us. At this point Ms. Rice is a bureaucrat so let's make certain.

Campaigners for Kerry have made a threat against Donald Rumsfeld with an advertisement in the GABBER, a Pinellas County (Florida) family run weekly newspaper. The ad was sponsored by the St. Petersburg Democratic club and says "We should put this S.O.B. up against a wall and say 'This is one of our bad days,' and pull the trigger".

The S.O.B. is Mr. Rumsfeld in their opinion and the ad further goes on to request donations for John Kerry's Presidential campaign.

Sorry folks, but this is just the beginning. This is the beginning of what is going to be thrown against President Bush this year. And it is still early and we are already seeing veiled death threats at our leaders from the party of tolerance. The socialist left is getting ready. We aren't becoming socialist fast enough for their liking and as history shows, they WILL resort to violence to get to their goals.

According to Matt Drudge, when called on the carpet, Club Vice President Edna McCall explained: "'Pull the trigger' means let Rumsfeld know where we stand, not to shoot him!"

I'm sorry but that is a lame attempt at CYA on this one. You don't threaten to put someone "up against a wall" and then "pull the trigger" on and not expect people to know what it means. We are not stupid Edna. But we are sure thankful that there are people like you out there continually showing your true colors as to what the party of "tolerance" really stands for.

Find the will to fight

It was a bloody week for Americans in Iraq. As progress is being made and the date of turn over of the government draws near, those that are the enemies of free men have begun to strike in a last ditch effort to win the day for evil. They have killed, maimed and kidnapped. They have done everything that evil knows how to do.

War is never simple and despite what video games and other fantasies teach us, death is all too real. One American soldier dead defending liberty is far too many because there is no real reason why anyone should have to die for freedom. No real reason that is except that evil exists and that that evil seeks to destroy liberty and enslave the human soul.

Not fighting the evil is not an option either simply because to live life without liberty is not to live but to be enslaved. It is in these times that our hearts, our minds and our souls are put on trial. But in this trial, we are our own jury. We are our own judge. Do we give up? Do we cut and run? Do we say to the evil that they have won this battle and slink back into our homes hoping and praying for a peaceful tomorrow?

Happy Easter everyone. Remember, Easter is not about little bunnies or baskets full of sweets. It is about the resurection of Jesus Christ.

Teach your children this and never let them forget it or allow the holliday to become secularized. The first step to removing God is to make all religious holidays secular and for "everyone". Easter is not for everyone. It is a day for Christians.

Kerry twists the tables again

Kerry is now quoted as disagreeing with Sen. Ted Kennedy and Sen. Robert Byrd, both of whom have called Iraq, Bush's Vietnam. But not so fast. Kerry, seeing that opposition to the war in Iraq is getting him no where outside of the fringe elements of the Democratic Party has upped the ante.

Kerry says that Iraq is NOT yet like Vietnam, BUT it could become that way. It could become that way, that is, if President Bush is allowed to remain in office. A slick move. He is now attempting to position himself as saying "I can do better" but still without telling us how. He is attempting to position himself as the man that is going to save our soldiers from a quagmire in Iraq. That is, if only we elect him in November.

To be certain it is a change of pace for Kerry in rhetoric. To be certain however, it is nothing more than rhetoric. Kerry has begun his move to the center by admitting that Iraq is not Vietnam. But after months of playing to the radical left-wing base he needed to even get the nomination will it have an effect?

The answer is no as long as we keep pointing out Kerry's flaws and promoting President Bush's at least somewhat on the right track agendas. I have faith that Kerry will continue to stumble. Such problems are not solved overnight. But this is going to be a long hard election cycle. And make no mistake, Kerry is in it to win and with every failed strategy, he'll create a new one to suit new needs.

9/11 Still in play?

Ms. Condoleezza Rice appeared before the 9/11 commission today laying out the case against Richard Clarke and many of his claims. In fact, simply a reading of the opening statement begs the question to be asked, what questions could have possibly been asked?

She severely destroyed Mr. Clarke's accusations that she knew nothing about the threats of Islamic Terrorists and al-Qiada which was a corner stone of his claims and the best chance political opponents had of discrediting the administration. She cataloged several instances of how exactly they approached the threat and made certain to remind partisans that in fact problems were caused long before President Bush took office by limiting how intelligence agencies could operate.

Former Sen. Bob Kerry and commissioner Richard Ben-Veniste both attempted throw their two cents in however were strongly rebuked by Ms. Rice's steady testimony. In the end it has come down to this. There is nothing to see here. Move along.

It's NOT the Economy Stupid

While I was out today, working hard like a good little conservative, I noticed something odd. I noticed that during rush hour both this morning and this evening that I sat in traffic. And not just a little bit of traffic either. I also noticed that this had been the same as it had been since I returned to the Pittsburgh area in 2000.

But how can this be? I thought that unemployment was so unbearably high in America?

The facts are, despite a "downturn" in the economy the roads are still packed in the morning and in the evening five days a week. Despite claims of rampant unemployment by some political affiliations I still sit in the same amount of traffic today with my fellow workers out early in the morning to win bread for our families. I hope people all over the country will look around and see the same things, and if they do, they will see that the real reason why the economy is so bad is that we are in a political season. Nothing more.

Snarlin' Feeling the Heat

Today, a new poll of 490 certain voters (far from scientifically valid) in Pennsylvania shows "Snarlin'" Arlen Specter is starting to feel the heat from conservative contender Pat Toomey. The poll shows Mr. Toomey trails the most liberal "Republican" Senator by just 6% (46% to 40%). This despite Mr. Specter's attempt to classify Toomey as a non-conservative by portraying his voting record as "far-out".

There isn't much time left before the primaries in PA and Toomey seems to be surging at just the right moment to capture the Republican nomination. I for one would not be sorry to see Mr. Specter removed from the Senate.
