Americans United to Protect Social Security should just change their names to Socialists United to Protect Socialism. After all, that is what they are and what they are doing.

The Washington Post (free insider subscription required) is reporting that Arkansas Democrat Senator Blanche Lincoln spoke on behalf of the group saying:

"Encouraging people to divert some of their current payroll deductions and put them into private accounts, in my opinion, is going to be devastating,"
She should have added "devastating to socialism which I LOVE!"

Heaven forbid that Americans rich and poor actually be given the ability to pass along their hard earned money to their children right? Heaven forbid that minorities which Democratic programs have trapped in a cycle of poverty be allowed to climb the ladder more easily right?

I'm still waiting for our someone to point out where in the Constitution the power is granted to Congress to redistribute wealth from one person to another under the name "Social Security". Any one want to take a stab at it? Anyone from Socialists United to Protect Socialism out there?

Comments:
I still don't understand why on earth Democrats are so scared to let people keep their own money. Does power and control mean that much to them?

Liberals complain about the deficit all the time. If we removed SSI, Welfare and Mecicare (which are all unconstitutional) we would be running in the black
