We the people, have come to a point in time where our country is no longer what it was intended to be. It is no longer a government of the people, for the people and by the people; but rather a government bogged down in bureaucracy designed to feed the special interests and redistribute wealth to those that have not earned it.

We have become a society where people believe that they are entitled to free health care, to live like kings in retirement, to have others pay for their children that they can not afford, and on and on and on.

We have become a society where those that cry the loudest are those that do not understand the structure of the constitution and the powers and privileges it grants. Too, we have come a society where Presidents and Judges commandeer the power to make law (something explicitly delegated only to Congress), where Congressmen bog down legislation in an outdated parliamentary system to prohibit even a vote on a topic or resolution, and where agencies are filled with career bureaucrats with no political responsibly to the people they serve.

It is a country of politicians that believe that if there is not enough money to support porkish programs for their own constituents that the answer is not to cut out needless port, but rather to increase taxes. It is a country where political pundits openly slander their opposition and distort the truth in order to gain favor. It is a country where politicians are all too eager to server those that line their pockets the most, and not those that elect them. It is a country where we allow non sovereign bodies such as the UN usurp our constitution to further a socialistic, one world view where they (the socialist, impoverished 3rd world nations) will have authority to tell the US how to operate and have absolute control over you and your properties.

And the worst part about it is that there is a sizable part of the populace that frankly doesn't care. Why? Simply because they all have one, if not both, hands outstretched grasping for government money taken from you and I to fund pet projects and bolster their own standards of living while detracting from your own.

But, beyond all this there is a glimmer of hope. Good is still done, although not as often as it should be. Some have the ability to see beyond what we are and what we must become. Some have the ability to understand the simplicity and power of the US Constitution and her supporting documents.

And in order to forge ahead and become an even greater nation there are a few that understand we must take her words and her spirit and promote them to the rest of the populace and the world as a shining beacon of what can be accomplished by a society of people working together as one nation, under God, indivisible while not rewarding those for things they have not done.

We must move to a point where the word and spirit of the Constitution are held with the utmost respect and a point where, no matter what, we do not strive to contradict the authorities and rights given to us or to bestow upon ourselves new rights and authorities to empower our selves.

It is not an easy road to travel. It means loosing some things that were never ours to begin with. It means holding those that seek to undermine our country and those that wish to travel the quick and easy road accountable for their actions.

We are a nation of laws; laws which sometimes are so outrageous that one can but only wonder why they were ever created. But we must adhere to the laws that we have and seek to rid ourselves of the mind numbingly off the wall ones. Any law that fails to treat everyone equally or fly in the face of common sense must be abolished.

We must work within a system that has time and again proven its self corrupt and mismanaged. Although the so-called "major" news outlets would rather report on how to loose weight with a new grapefruit diet than serious issues with our government and her agencies and dependents. Again, not an easy task, but it can be done.

We are at a cross-roads in our country's history. It is a time where too often the whims of the most offended rule over common sense and law. It is a time where too often corruption within the government is over looked as documents get shredded and whistle blowers are silenced. It is a time where next to no one in this country votes but still complain about everything that government does.

We, the people, must be heard. But we the people must be responsible and vocal as well.
